Role Of Violence In Romeo And Juliet
Violence is a very powerful and stressful behavior shown throughout this play by many of the characters. Violence also plays a very important role in The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Without violence, Romeo would not have slain Tybalt and been banished from Verona thus causing all of problems between him and Juliet. Violence can also be very stressful to a person. It can cause them to have many problems with life, love and other personal things. Violence can have lasting effects on someone that can lead them into committing dumb and meaningless acts such as killing themselves or other people.
Although there are many scenes where violence occurs the main one would probably have to be the scene where Romeo slew Tybalt. This scene had a major

    In this essay I will address how conflict is successfully used in Act 1 Scene 1 to prepare the audience for the rest of the play. It will firstly show how Shakespeare uses physical conflict between the two feuding families. Secondly I will demonstrate the idea that Shakespeare introduces emotional conflict through the character of Romeo, and his outpourings of love for Rosaline. Finally I will show that the character of Romeo demonstrates both physical or external conflict and emotional or internal conflict. The purpose of the prologue is to clearly outline the plot of the whole play in fourteen lines and it also allows the audience to be settled before the actual play properly starts. Most people are quite familiar with the newlywed couple committing suicide together because their love was forbidden. However, if someone were to look at it from a different angle, Romeo and Juliet weren’t the only ones who decided their death. Yes, they finalized their deaths, but they weren’t the only ones at fault. In fact, they were murdered by people with good intentions. This leaves us with the question of who killed them?
