E-commerce has several different categories which include business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and consumer-to-consumer. The business to consumer category is probably what most think of when considering e-commerce. This category is best described as when a retailer offers products and services to an individual consumer. The business to business category of e-commerce may not be as popular in the public eye, but is an integral part of how companies conduct business. Business to business e-commerce is basically when a business makes a business out of supporting other companies by selling them products they need to run their business. Consumer to consumer transactions are not a new idea, but the introduction of the e-commerce environment has drastically changed this category of e-commerce. Sites like eBay allow people to sell items in their possession to the highest bidder without the constraint of geographical location. When consumer to consumer transactions are done this way it allows the person selling their product to get a much fairer price for the products they are offering.…

As one example are social websites. People are capable of meeting from anywhere in the world. You can chat with somebody from Germany now; 5 minutes later meet a person from Spain, and later on meet another from Argentina. This was pretty much impossible before the invention of the internet, unless you were at a local bar in New York City or in a ONU’s convention. One more example is mailing. Regular mail used to take days, weeks, and sometimes months to reach at the destination. Today, thanks to the internet, a full letter can be sent and received in less than 5 minutes. Last of all, chatting, messaging, and talking from distance places have been improved thanks to the internet. No matter where you are, as long as you have internet connection and a device capable of web surfing like computers, a smart phone, an Iphone, etc. you can instantly communicate with somebody at the other end of the line. Web cams make even better these tasks because you can listen, talk and observe each other’s reactions. The day and age of the friendly neighborhood grocery store has long passed, supermarket stores now dominate the retail business. British supermarket chain Asda was recently taken over by American retail and wholesale giant Wal-Mart. After retaining the name Asda, the supermarket chain has grown and opened stores across the UK, recruiting many employees along the way. The recruiting policies have undergone a major re-vamp with a large local recruitment drive. Recruitment drives are sometimes conducted seasonally, like during Christmas, when extra part time staff is hired to cope with the rising business. Applications can be completed online or by visiting a local store and getting an application form. After reviewing the application, the next step for a potential employee is an interview. This is followed by training and probationary period where they are assessed on their various skills. If they do well through these stages then they are hired and become a part of the local Asda family.…
