Rocket Propelled Grenades

It was early morning the sun was peeking over the horizon. The military helicopter was cruising at about 200 feet air to ground level, departing a river valley base in Afghanistan.
Everything seemed routine until a loud bang occurred and the helicopter yawed to the right. As the crew chief looked back, there was a huge hole on the left sponson with the sun rays making its was into the cabin. With a quick assessment from pilots and crew, the conclusion was made.
The helicopter had been hit by a rocket propelled grenade (RPG). That was a brisk story of a personal experience back in 2010. Every war fanatic has heard of a rocket propelled grenade, but many don’t know the multiple uses and the history this deadly devices brings.
I chose to tell a story of how someone was effected by the rocket propelled grenade to illustrate the use of the device and overall purpose to destroy personnel, equipment, and vehicles. Once I got that point across I jumped straight into the thesis sentence. It fell well into the last sentence and summed up that many people don’t know what they. Then inviting the reader to follow the writer into the next paragraph with letting them know that the history and uses are interesting.
The Essay has to explain the history and uses of the Rocket Propelled Grenade so I have come up with a rough outline of the Essay.

Introduction:- A helicopter is a very unique type of aircraft that uses rotating blades (wings of a airplane, and a helicopter must be curved from the front and gradually smooth out at the back to generate lift. This shape is called an airfoil ) to acquire lift .Unlike an airplane that is dependent on speed, an airplane must fly in a certain speed to move enough air over its wings to provide lift. A helicopter's rotor also allows it to move forward ,backward, upward downward, sideways and hover without moving. Beyond doubt the rotor blades of a helicopter is very helpful to our modern society as news and radio broadcasters send helicopters to report traffic and weather patterns, and act as air ambulances and policing needs.…

The battle was fought at the Khe Sanh Combat Base (KSCB), formally a French outpost, was being used by the U.S. as a staging area for forward patrols and was a potential launch point for contemplated future operations to cut the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. This Base was threatened when General Vo Nguyen Giap deployed the People’s Army of Vietnam (PAVN) to overrun the village of Khe Sanh and opened fire on the base itself, hitting its main ammunition dump and detonating 1,500 tons of explosives. As a result, U.S. Marine Corps helicopter units, under the command of General William Westmoreland, were deployed around Khe Sanh to support operations by U.S. Special Forces and the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) in a campaign known as Operation Niagara. The Battle of Khe Sanh had begun.…

While climbing to the new altitude the airspeed dropped from 203 knots to 160 knots while they were climbing to forty one thousand feet from thirty seven thousand feet. The airspeed of 160 is very close to the stalling speed of the aircraft. Around this stalling speed the captain told the first officer that they will be coming down in a second and then stated that this thing will not hold altitude. The engines started to spool down and the stick shaker and stick pusher were activated three times in a ten second interval. The airplane then entered an aerodynamic stall. Once the stall occurred a left rolling motion began which eventually ended up in an eighty two degree left wing down configuration. At this time both of the engines actually flamed out. The captain declared an emergency at this time but only admitted to one of the engines failing, not both of them.…
