Rights and Responsibilities of Service Users
The individual rights and responsibilities of service users using the different services.
I am writing an explanation of the generic rights and responsibilities of service users and service providers.
Service users rights- hospital
they have the right to be respected this means that they have the right to be treated the same as every one else and how they want to be treated. For example they might not want to be treated by a certain gender of doctor so they will have to respect that and arrange something else for them. For example if you have a Muslim then they might not want to be examined unless they have a family member in the room with them so they have to respect this and make sure that they allow this to happen because it might be because of their believes and they might not like to be examined by a certain gendered person.
Another thing is that they have the right to be treated equally and not to be discriminated against. This means that they have the right to have the same treatment as everyone else and it doesn't matter if they are from a different background they should be able to have the same treatment as everyone else. For example if there is someone that has their health care privately and there is someone that is using the NHS then they need to make sure that the doctors that are treating them should give them the quality of care that they deserve.
Also they have the right to have some privacy. This means that they have the right to be on their own if they want to be or to not have people there while they are talking to people in their cubicle. For example if a patient is getting changed then they have the right to get dressed while there is no-one there with them. For example if they are getting changed and they are a female and the doctor treating them is a male then they would need to allow them to get changed alone and then examine them. Or if they are being treated then they would need to make sure that they allow them to have
