• Rich Bloss contacted us be he does not think we should automatically check the “make this a monthly donation” box in our donation emails. I apologized and let him know I would share his feedback with our donation staff. Apparently, we only automatically mark this box for people who already give a monthly donation.

• Brett Whan reached out because he is concerned about the way his dog’s court case went and wanted to know if we could help and share his story to get the case reopened. I let him know we receive a very high volume of requests such as so we are unable to formally post each request. I provided him with our Facebook page where he can share it with our members and suggested he also contact the Lexus project since we do not have lawyers on staff that can provide legal advice.

This week she came back wanting to know if it would be safe to put a muzzle on her dog when they hike on a public trail. I reached out to Sherry and she said it would be fine as long as she uses basket type muzzle so the dog can drink, pant and receive treats.

• Sharon Richards wanted to know if she could meet up with someone from BF in out humane education program and get some educational material for her kid’s educational booth for a park event. I explained that at one time we did have a humane education program but it is no longer active and instead we provide a kids camp during the summer months. I provided her with our printable document “Things Kids can do to Save Them ALL”, websites where she can download and print educational material for children.

• Patricial Caraballo is interested in becoming a certified dog trainer and wanted to know if we could provide her with some information about how to get started. I sent her some information I have on file because this seems to be a common

    Throughout the past few years I have taken part in many projects and activities to foster education and global engagement. The most recent is my upcoming outreach trip to the Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club. This trip was planned by myself, 3 other education students and our faculty supervisor. The purpose of this trip is to provide support for the Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club (AZBGC). As Education students, we are taking this opportunity to provide daily lessons for the children who visit the Boys and Girls Club. We started the planning in September and we have put in over 120 hours since then in order to make this trip as beneficial for the children at the AZBGC. Apart of this planning, we have raised funds to help support the children's’ education costs. While planning for this outreach trip, I decided to partner with a local grade seven class to teach them about social justice. Their classroom teacher told me that with the recent media attention in the USA she is having difficulty teaching her students about justice and discrimination. We decided to partner together to teach both the Ugandan Children as well as the Canadian grade seven class about what it is like to live in a different part of the world. This partnership will entail writing letters to each other as well as creating a video about life in each of their respective locations.…
