Chuck E. Cheeses Persuasive Speech
We all know the jingle, "Chuck E. Cheese's, where a kid can be a kid", and I have to agree that no-one knows how to make it fun for kids like Chuck E. Cheese's. Madison is a big fan of Chuck and for her 2nd birthday we threw a big birthday bash there. Since then I occasionally take her there for a treat and we always have a grand old time, yes even me. Not only is it affordable but the convenience of having both a play ground as I like to call it, complete with food is definitely mom approved. I just love their pizza and so does Madison, you've most certainly have to give their new thin + crispy pizza the next time you visit. On our most recent visit however, we found out that not only was Chuck E. Cheese's still fun, but they were also in the process of doing some good. See for the entire month of April (National Volunteer Month) they are doing a Nationwide Wide Fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters. On 3/31/2016 for the …show more content…
So what exactly is Big Brothers Big Sisters?
"For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people."

I am all for helping out those less fortunate than we are, especially children. In this case we were helping children facing adversities ("Littles"), get matched with adult volunteers ("Bigs"). This way they can foster strong, enduring and professionally supported relationships to change lives for the better. Sometimes all you need is a mentor to make your life a lot more

I absolutely had to use a photo of Princess Diana because I was a huge fan of hers. I remember watching her wedding on television when I was a young child, and I cried like a baby when she met her untimely demise. I don't recall every crying like that when a celebrity died, but she was my heroine and I loved her! Since then I've kept up with the ins and outs of the Royal Family and the shenanigans of Prince Harry, my now favorite Prince. He is a Princess Diana reincarnated in the male form. Lives by his own rules and with not a care in the world. Madison and I were able to visit the Madame Tussauds London museum while on our trip to London just recently, thanks to the kind folks of Merlin Entertainment. Since this is most likely the only way we'll ever get to the meet the Royal Family we just had to do it. Now if you're thinking all wax museums are the same, well Madame Tussauds London is on a whole new level of awesome. I've…

Being active in National Charity League for six years, I have had the pleasure of working with many different philanthropies, my favorite being The Tualatin School House Pantry. Operating out of the basement of a church, the food bank helps to feed families in the community who are struggling financially. While my first few experiences at the food pantry were emotionally challenging, I found them to be very eye opening. I met many people from different backgrounds, yet they all shared the same hardship, the inability to afford food for themselves and their families. Wanting to do more for the recipients, I received training to be one of the personal shoppers.…

We fifth grade students are now moving on to middle school, and we had such a great experience, we would like to leave a memory of our class. The Eagle represents Signal Hill and means so much to our school community. We would like to replace the old carved wood Eagle that is displayed in the front of our school, which is rotting, with a new one. It would be presented as a gift to the Signal Hill Elementary School on behalf of the 2016 Signal Hill Graduating Class. I have been so blessed with a healthy and financially stable family and because of that I feel as though I need to give back. I have seen first hand the effects that living in a negative environment have on a child. My own cousin has been the victim of her mother’s poor decisions. Watching this first hand has been very difficult for me and sadly I’m seeing her actions resembling her mothers as she grows up. I know there are kids my age who feel they have no other choice but to do exactly what their parents have done. It always hurts my heart to see kids struggle because of the poor choices their parents have made. Of course, not all parents living in low-income situations have made poor decisions in their life, but the children who are suffering because their parent’s actions, I feel; need to know they can make a better life for themselves. Many of these high school students probably haven’t seen anything outside of Pontiac. I want them to know there is more out there for him. I want to see these kids…

So last week Kate and I received a list from Kate's mom. On that list was a bunch of different homeless organizations. We were worried that all of these organizations would shut us down before we even started because we wanted to be able to help out specific families, but organizations like to keep people anonymous and not state names or any information about people in their program. The first organization that we stopped at was called "Building A Generation". we met with the woman that runs that office and found out that the organization supports three different schools in the Redlands areas and their families. to be part of the program a family has to be below the poverty rate. we pitched our idea of making care packages and…

I have been bringing kids here to volunteer for 13 or 14 years, and we come 3 to 4 times a year. I think it is really important for kids to have volunteer experience and I like coming here because the food stays within our community, within the metro area. The kids really like coming because they think it is really neat how we can just work 3 hours and can provide so many meals for kids and their families in just a short amount of time and its fun. All of the people here are really fun to work with. It’s just a really fun environment. My kids beg to come and volunteer. They really, really enjoy coming here. It is cool in how just a short amount of time you can make a big difference fighting hunger. By coming here they learn that it is fun to…

Is the future of America, specifically young adults, in jeopardy due to the spiraling costs of higher education and associated student loans? All signs point to a crisis in financial aid due to a drop in the availability of jobs, without jobs student loans cannot be paid off in a reasonable time frame or not at all.
