Review Of Argumentative Essay
Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg and defensive tackle Austin Johnson declared Saturday that they will both enter the NFL Draft and skip their final year of eligibility with the Nittany Lions.

Hackenberg made his announcement after the junior was knocked out of Saturday's TaxSlayer Bowl with a shoulder injury. Coach James Franklin said during his news conference after the Nittany Lions' 24-17 loss to Georgia that Hackenberg suffered a sprained shoulder joint.

"This place means a lot to me," Hackenberg said. "It's been an awesome ride, tough way to end it today. It means the world to me. My family and I talked about it and we felt this was the best decision for me. I felt my role here and my job here has been accomplished. Things are in good hands moving forward."

“After much thought and consideration with my family, I have decided that the best decision for me is to forgo my senior season at Penn State,” Johnson said. “I want to thank Nittany Nation for your support over the last three years. My love for Nittany Nation will be with me always.

“I want to thank all of the coaches who have helped me throughout my college career. I would like to thank Coach [Joe] Paterno and Coach [Larry] Johnson for opening the door for me to attend Penn State and thank you to Coach [Bill] O’Brien for being the rock of the program in a time of need. I would also like to thank Coach [James] Franklin and Coach [Sean] Spencer for supporting me to excel in my position.

"Last but not least, my teammates. Thank you for always being there for me. I will carry my pride as a Nittany Lion with me

Once he was finished with high school he earned a scholarship from Southern Mississippi which was the only scholarship offered to him. During his freshman year he started the season as a seventh string quarterback. Favre looked to take over the starting position in the first half of the third game. Although suffering a hangover he led the team to a comeback win. In his third season with the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles Favre upset the 6th ranked Florida State Seminoles. Brett Favre threw the game winning pass with just 23 seconds left as he put up a six and a half minute drive. Just before Brett Favre’s senior year start he had one of the scariest things happen in his life. Brett Favre lost control of his car going around a turn near his house. His car flipped three times and finally stopped resting on a tree. One of Brett’s brothers busted the window out and was taken to a hospital on an ambulance. On the ride to the hospital Favre just kept asking his mom if he will ever be able to play football again. Favre had to get emergency surgery and the doctors removed thirty inches of his intestines. Favre then hosted a comeback win over the Alabama Rolling Tide. After the game Alabama Head coach Gene Stallings said “You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want. I just know on that day Brett Favre was larger than life.” At the end of Favre’s career at Southern Mississippi he holds a bunch of records and earned a…

It's only the first week of the season, but already the list of injured players is growing. Both New York quarterbacks — Eli Manning of the Giants and Chad Pennington of the Jets — may miss games because of shoulder and ankle injuries, respectively. Orlando Pace, the all-pro offensive lineman from the St. Louis Rams, tore the labrum and rotator cuff in his right shoulder. He will miss the season. A steady stream of injuries marred Cincinnati's thrilling 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens Monday night: about a dozen Ravens visited the team doctor Tuesday morning for treatment.…

Usually the decision comes from a perspective thinking long-term. While injuries have always been a part of the game, players are more cognizant of how the injuries can impact their long-term health. Players don’t want to injure themselves anymore and avoiding CTE and concussions. Most NFL players lost their enthusiasm for the game of football and need to take the money they have earned and leave. Last year alone, 19 NFL players, aged 30 or younger, retired from the sport. Just four years before that, the number was five, according to data collected by ESPN. Like for instance, Calvin Johnson was an elite wider receiver for the Detroit Lions breaking records 3-4 seasons back. He was a pro bowler and was a very valuable receiver if he was to become a free agent. This year sadly, he announce he was going to retire at 31 years old as a Detroit Lion. 31 years old is a young age to retire and he was still performing at a high level, but due to his decision he made, it was his idea and think it would be good for him to take the money he has and just hang up his cleats. Calvin Johnson Jr. at least had another 6 years of playing in him but it was time according to his…

I’ll never forget snuggling close to my friends for warmth as we watch our team dominate on the field and looking around me as the band plays and all my peers are dancing and singing along in the stands. I’ll never forget how much fun me and my friends had putting together the freshmen class float and decorating the pod for home coming or all those basketball games, soccer games, choir performances, and drama productions where the whole school comes together.
