VABEs is an abbreviation that stands for a person’s values, assumptions, beliefs and expectations in regards to the world and how it should function. Every person has VABEs in different degrees and they develop through our lifetime and have a lot to do with our religious faith. These are ethical expectations that we develop as children, they grow throughout our lifetime, and as adults, we begin to believe that the world should be a certain way based on these VABEs. There are several types of VABEs but the most common one is behavior we see something and know whether it is good behavior or bad behavior. A good example of this is the 10 Commandments as Christians we understand that breaking any of these commandments goes against God’s teaching
