Research Paper On Gun Control In America
Gun Control
In america we need to get rid of or make stricter rules for gun control. There is too much shooting in this country that is killing thousands of innocent adults, it helps people rob stores and banks, and lastly guns kill a lot of children in school shootings that have happened plenty of times over the years. Guns should be illegal in this country for many of reasons. We need to change something about this situation.
“In america, 289 people are shot every day” said by Washington posts. Guns are getting out of control in this country and its getting worse and worse everyday. Letting people have guns kill innocent people every single day and the government aren't changing anything about gun control. The only people in this country

Its very rare to see someone robbing without a gun. “41.4 robberies have been used with a firearm,” said by the FBI. Guns are almost half of what people rob people with in the u.s. And it's a very scary thing to think about because in 2010 there was more than quarter of a million robberies. If the government gets rid of gun control there will be way less robberies in the U.S. and that would help america out very much so.
“There has been 52 school shootings leaving 30 dead and 53 severely injured” said by CNN. There could be way less or even zero school shootings if we get rid of gun control in america. It is very sad to think about 52 schools going through this and how devastating it was. Kids in schools shouldn't go through stuff like this but it happens because too much bad people in this country have guns. School shootings need to stop now and america can change that but don't.
Other people might say ,“The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun”. That makes sense but in america it does not work out so well. That's why they're called called good guy with guns because they don't shoot other people or they don't even have a gun. Twenty percent of these situation are ended up with a potential victim that is unarmed. Only three percent are stopped by a good guy with a gun, so its very rare to see. That theory might sound convincing but the safest way to handle the situation is just not

As mentioned earlier, Washington, D.C. and the United Kingdom adopted stringent gun control laws and it literally increased crime. If laws become too tough to handle, people will work their way around the laws. Owning or not owning a gun will not make people less susceptible to experiencing crime. In 2010, across four counties, 444 domestic homicides relating to guns were recorded. In only eight of these instances, the gun involved had been kept in the home. Furthermore, the instances when the gun in the home had been used, it is safe to say that it was used in self-defense. Most homicide victims are killed by weapons carried by the intruder (Lott, pg. 26,…

With less honest people carrying guns to protect themselves and their families’ acts of violent crimes will only increase. There is many examples of honest armed citizens stop violent armed robberies and even saving officers. One example I like to use for this is the Texas man that saved the life of pinned down police officer in the middle of a gun fight. The suspect had an ar-15 and had the officer pinned down behind his car. The citizen realized he had the flank and was in position to help he grabbed his .45 and fired 4 shot 3 of them hit and wound the suspect. This armed citizen put his life on the line and saved a police officer who had a tactical disadvantage.…

The main idea of stricter gun control is to deter crime rates, but doing this could potentially increase crime rates instead. Not allowing law abiding citizens to own guns will leave them defenseless to criminals that still have access to illegal guns. If criminals know that citizens no longer have guns to protect themselves, they are more likely to attempt that crime on them thus increasing crime rates. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), “Global Study on Homicide,”…

In the past recent years in American there were over 464,033 total gun deaths between 1999 and 2013. This statistic demonstrates a major problem with the gun control in America. We as Americas have the right to bear arms provided to us by the second amendment. We have the right to bear arms but unfortunately its misused when people use the guns for needless killings. Two of the most memorable examples are the Massacre at Columbine and Sandy Hook.…

Every day, dozens or even hundreds of people find themselves victims of gun violence. 30,000 people on average are killed each year by firearms while 64% of all firearm deaths are suicides, and firearms are the third-leading cause of injury-related deaths nationwide. ("Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence," May 11, 2015). With those statistics, it would make sense why people think that gun control is the answer, and some regulations like background checks and increased penalties for those convicted of using guns in crimes are needed.…

Gun control can be looked at from many different viewpoints from many different people. Some people believe that all crime will be stopped while others think it will only increase. Guns should not be banned in the U.S because banning them will not make the killers stop, good people need to help, and making guns illegal will just lead to people disobeying the law.…

We can make guns illegal, or we can give everyone in America a gun. People with the wrong intentions for weapons can easily steal a gun from someone who has the right intentions. Regardless of how we handle it, terrible situations will still happen. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to be as careful and safe as possible.…

Guns do a lot of bad, but do a lot more good for society. Banning guns will not stop the problem, but will just make it worse. Guns are apart of our society as Americans they have been around since colonial years, and are not leaving anytime soon. “The number of guns in America has increased by more than 50 percent since 1993, and in that same period the gun homicide rate in the United States has dropped by half. (Kristof, The Times).” Guns offer protection for individuals. One day you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a shooting breaks out, you will pray there is someone else there with a concealed firearm to help control the situation while waiting for police to arrive. They can’t do that if guns are banned. “We need to understand that we cannot stop crimes and murders. And banning guns would be a step, or two, backwards instead of moving forward in the right direction (The Times News).” The research conducted to produce this paper was drawn from a multitude of sources all with different…

It has been a proven fact that the states with stricter gun control have increased the crime rate by a lot. That is happening because some people still have guns and the government are disarming everybody else which makes it easier to rob store gas stations and banks. “Although guns killed 35,957 people in 1995 the guns didn’t pull the trigger people did.”(Schmittroth 3) Most of those killings were from having gun control. If we got rid of gun control it would reduce the amount of crimes that go on in the United States. Most of the guns in the United States protect lives more than they take lives. But that only happens when there is no gun control. And handguns are perfect for women to keep in there purse to have for self-defense. But the government is trying to pass gun control which will leave most of the women defenseless. Which bad thing is that approximately 200,000 women in the United States use guns to protect themselves from sexual crimes every single year. And guns prevent more injures than they…

Have you been thinking about gun control lately? Have you been thinking about how safe you really are in this world including your children’s safety? Can you believe that the total number of incidents in 2015 is a shocking number of 48,825? That is completely insane. Currently gun control is a topic of conversation mostly because of the recent tragedies. Statistics show that gun violence is raising the bar in tragedies through the year, now no legitimate study in the U.S. has ever shown that gun control has no positive impact on crime, death rates are on the rise, and more incidents are occurring in smaller towns during daily routines.…

Studies show that people who resist a crime committed against them with a gun are less likely to get hurt (Kleck 3). Gun control has been shown to do only one thing, and that is to take the gun out of the hand of a potential victim. Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz wrote, “if self protection with a gun is commonplace, it means any type of gun control that disarms large numbers of prospective victims … will carry significant social cost in term of lost opportunities for self protection” (Kleck 2). Kleck and Gertz also found that in 1982, when interviewing incarcerated felons, 34% had been scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by an armed victim (Kleck 19). If that many felons are being affected by people using a gun to defend themselves, not only are people successfully defending themselves, the people not reporting this information are basically helping the criminals by letting people think owning a gun and knowing how to use it does not help a victim. The reason people do not know this is because the government does not find it significant enough to report. The reason it is hard to prove that self protection using a gun works is because nobody reports the incident. The criminal, if not caught, does not report it. Also, victims do not report that they used a gun for fear that the police will harass them for using a gun. The government will not put the use of guns for self protection into its statistical model; because it is unwilling to admit that guns are useful for self defense. Guns are useful in preventing crime and they should be allowed on college…

In 1791, when the 2nd amendment was written, there was an organization called the watch. It was “made up of six watchmen, one constable, and several volunteers who patrolled at night, walking the rounds” (national law enforcement museum). Their job was to investigate and punish the criminals. The modern police’s job is to prevent and investigate the crime, and to punish the criminals. Police prevent the crimes before it even happens. Some people might ask how do they prevent crime, answer lie in a person’s phone. In 21st century most of the people who are at a crime scene will rather call the police than trying to stop it themselves. This show how much people depend on law enforcement rather than getting involved themselves. If citizen are not going to use a gun in situations like this, then they should not keep…

In America the uses of guns are present in our society since dawn of time. In discussions it is always a controversial issue between both sides. However it seem being a holder of a firearm only bring consequences and with gun control policy it seemed nothing has changed. Gun violence is a problem and gun control laws for guns has no influence on crime commit by gun, it is just allowing gun violence to spread. Many death topics are heavily related to uses of guns as such homicide, suicide, and many more. America gun control is not a solution, guns serve more about killing than protecting lives. What is needed for reducing gun violence is more laws for restrictions on gun, less the availability of obtaining guns, less productions of guns. It may not stop the violence, but at least it would reduce rather than increasing.…
