INTRODUCTION
Mostly new people of a new culture will have an unknown data about a certain place that he/she doesn’t know about. An information kiosk is needed for person that doesn’t know where to go or where a place is. Some will be confused in which that area is not where he wanted to be. It will helped the students of NORSU to determine and see where that certain place would be. First Year students will be having no idea about the whereabouts of NORSU, they will be having a hard time in going to their classrooms or departments. This helps the, to identify the place if they will get lost or have nowhere to go.
Information Kiosk is a step towards making the information available to people irrespective of their literary skills. Information Kiosk is an end-to-end user application with mobile user interface (UI) and interacts with image display that is compatible for Java phones only. As we go along in the internet we have found out that a lot of people in our country today are illiterates’ especially in India. Even though the researchers talks about Information Kiosk application considering the challenges in around the world, its architecture and application design is quite adaptable to any region of the world facing similar challenges.
The functionality of an information kiosk can be extended by allowing it to interact with a smartphone, as demonstrated by the Kimono system, and the user interface can be greatly simplified by “associations” between pieces of information. A kiosk provides information that is relevant to a particular location and can use valuable context information, such as the fact that a user is physically standing in front of the kiosk, to tailor the display. Its graphically rich screen is suitable for presenting information to the user and has a natural input modality requiring the user to simply touch the screen.
However, a kiosk lacks mobility and cannot stay with the user as he or she moves about the environment. Also, information provided
