One thing to keep in mind is if your food is worth more than your deductible. With renter’s insurance deductibles typically being around $500 to $1,000, you may not even have that much money worth of food to justify a claim.

In addition, you may be able to use renter’s insurance to cover your costs to stay in a hotel. This is typically only covered if you cannot live in your home at the time of the power outer, due to the home being damaged or incredibly cold temperature and having electric heat.

Can You Use Renter’s Insurance To Cover Pet Damage?

If you left your dog at home to discover that they created a lot of damage in your absence, you are not totally out of luck. Some renter’s insurance policies will cover damage caused by pets. This could include replacing or fixing damaged furniture, carpet cleaning for stains they created, and even replacing that big screen TV that they knocked over.

Since this is not typically standard coverage for a renter’s insurance policy, make sure you have the coverage added before you get your pet.

Cheap pet insurance will take care of almost all of the medical costs associated with owning a dog or cat. You can sign up for insurance right from your computer or smartphone. Most companies will give you a quote right from the start so you know what you will be paying before signing up. Make sure to carefully read the fine print before committing to a specific plan. There are usually three types of cheap pet insurance plans to choose from. The least expensive usually only covers routine visits, such as check-ups, vitamins, and vaccinations, which can be a good plan for when you own a puppy or kitten. But once that animal gets older, you will want to upgrade to a plan that includes more coverage. The next plan is for accidents and illness only and will cost more, but is great for covering high-cost surgeries and other medical costs. Finally, comprehensive coverage will basically cover everything from routine health care to chronic illness costs such as canine cancer. Again, be sure to fully understand the plan you are choosing so you aren’t stuck paying for coverage that you don’t need or that won’t cover the most important pet…

Some of the laws that were passed for owning a pitbull are in March of 2009 the state of kansas said that all pitbulls must be microchipped within six months of getting a dog and of passing this ordinance. No more than two pitbulls for residential house holds and no breeders license if you own a pitbull. Which also affects the law in kansas that if you own four or more dogs you must obtain a breeds license. In 2012 a ruling involving a mauling of a child in Marylands highest courts held that pitbulls are "inherently dangerous", making owners and landlords renting to owners of a pitbull liable for any injuries during attacks. That means even if a child pokes and throws rocks at the dog then the dog attacks the owner will still be responsible. Home owners have to a liability insurance for a pitbull and most home owners insurance will pay between $100-$300 thousand dollars for an attack.
