Reflective Essay On Critical Thinking
When thinking about the concept of critical thinking, several thoughts come to mind. Initially, I would say it involves placing deep thought on a subject area to come up with a conclusion. It may involve asking questions or further analysis to reach the appropriate answer. The main objective of critical thinking has been described as reaching conclusions that are wise and correct (Moore & Parker, 2012). I will also discuss my personal and professional goals and the relationship between critical thinking skills, achieving my goals and effecting social change.
Personal and Professional Goals
This year, I will turn 50 years old. I can honestly say that because of many of the personal challenges that I have had to overcome, I really did not expect to reach this age. There were times when I was sponge which gave me the opportunity to absorb the information that I needed and to ignore what was not beneficial to me. In order to do this, it requires an in depth analysis. This thought process has also contributed to me being able to achieve the goals that I have been successful in achieving. Additionally, as an employee with the Georgia Department of Human Services, I have realized the need to continually influence social change within the state of Georgia. Within the department, we focus on all aspects of the family to include children, parents and the elderly. When reflecting on human behavior and the complexities associated with why we do the things that we do, it requires a critical analysis (Browne & Keeley, 2013). By focusing on different members of the family, effecting social change is inevitable as we work to address the issues that families
