Reflection On English 101
This semester in English 101 has definitely helped me a whole lot throughout the semester I saw a lot of improvement. I improved in my greatest weaknesses which were run-on sentences and punctuation. I improved as a writer and had several assignments that worked well for me, and one that did not. This semester was definitely helpful and I learned a lot.
My weaknesses when I first entered English 101 were knowing how to use the correct punctuation and failing to realize when I had run-on sentences. Having a lot of run-on sentences was my biggest weakness overall. In my first essay, which was the argumentative essay, I had several, but I did improve with each essay. I took time in reading over each sentence and I read it out loud as well, that

    The following are three essays that I worked on during the semester. Most of it remains the same, while some of my ideas have developed. The only major changes made were redirecting the ideas in the Where is Waldo Now essay. In English 1102 I struggled with a lot, Professor Grant really challenged what I thought I knew about writing. Being that English is my second language, language barriers normally do not reflect in my speech or writing. I felt that this semester really showed me that I still had work to do. Passive voice, comma slices, forming arguments, and grammar are some of the many skills that I worked on during this semester. I attended the Writing Center as often as I could; I also asked questions during office hours. I worked on perfecting these skills in my other classes as well by reading out loud.     English 111 is the first college English class I have taken, but despite that I feel I would be able to bring a lot into this class.     I have attended Argosy University Online since March 21, 2013 to Present. I was a Fulltime student. I'm currently taking my last course with them which is ENG 102. I enjoy taking my classes online. I feel as it is just like sitting in the classroom. When I logon to my class portal everything is there. Currently at Argosy the terms are 5 weeks long. So when I log on I have 5 modules that are one week a piece and have 3 assignments on each module. I participate in a discussion that the instructor puts out and I have to respond to the discussion post and also having to reply to two classmates on their discussion post every week. When assignments are due requiring the use of a text book I navigate under the module that the assignment is due and click on the require text that pertains to the assignment and the text is there from the book. When a writing assignment is due, I normally type the paper in Microsoft word and attach the document into the drop box on Argosy University's student portal and click the drop down box and click which assignment I’m submitting and submit it for grading. If I’m not too much in a hurry I will wait about ten minutes to see what my Turnitin score is. If I have any questions for the professor at any time I go to the left hand side where the modules are and click “Questions for the Professor” and ask my question.
