Reason for Scholarship
"If I could change one thing in my life, I would go back in time and earn some money for college," my cousin always says after realizing the consequences he has to face for his mistakes. He has always been a major influence in my life, giving me enthusiasm, courage, strength, and the ability to keep progressing forward. Ever since I was young, I have always appreciated art and technology. Due to this fondness, I wanted to become a part of the gaming industry, mainly because it incorporates both art and technology into one. I have also advanced by taking an extra step by learning all the necessary tools and knowledge I will be using in the workplace. Today my appreciation is stronger than ever. The college I have chosen not only provides me with the hands-on training, but also teaches me about real-life skills and communication. But due to a high financial cost needed to attend the college, I am very limited on my resources. My mother has a hard time taking care of the household, and thus does not have time to work. My father is the only source of income, and he works very hard to provide us with family necessities. It would really ease the burden on my shoulders if I had received the money for college tuition, and not fully depend on my family to make my dreams come true. I want to avoid being in debt after observing my cousin working long hours to pay back his loans. It would also help me reduce the stress which I may face concerning financial aid; therefore I can focus easily on my education in the classes. Being part of a great tradition at Woodruff, I learned a great deal concerning my future. I have chosen my road, but it has a lot of humps in the middle due to high cost of college tuition. I would be greatly appreciated if I receive the money to pay for my college, and ease the burdens of my family and

I don’t know if I feel that saying that I deserve this scholarship is the right thing to say, but going to Japan has been a goal of mine ever since I can remember. My grandfather was the one who really got me interested in Japan. My grandfather would have loved me going to Japan and would have supported me whole heartedly. I want to go to Japan not only to see what he saw, but also to improve the little that I know and improve myself.…

Honestly, I know little to nothing about the cost of college, but I have seen the toll of it from my parents. With my sister already in her junior year in a state university, they’ve told me time and time again to save water and electricity to reduce the costs of the bills. When I asked about it they listed to me all the different types of expenses they’ve had to pay for my sister: housing, tuition, food, and clothing. As a high school senior about to graduate and about to go to college, my parents had to pool their savings and what other money they have so that they can brace themselves to support me as well when I continue my education. Although it will be me in campus doing all the work, the cost itself to get me there is a heavy burden…
