SONA 2013: REACTION PAPER

State of the Nation Address (SONA) is an annual address made by the president with regarding to the status of our nation, the accomplishments he made and his plan for the future of our country. Last Monday, July 22, 2013 President Benigno Aquino III made his 4th SONA at Batasang Pambansa Complex. In his SONA he discussed a lot of things regarding to the economics initiatives, peace and welfare and tackling of corruption.
For me President Benigno Aquino III did a good job addressing his SONA last Monday. I know he is dedicated to help our country to be progressive one of course with the help of every Filipino. To be a progressive country, a particular country must attain peace and welfare of its constituents and high economic growth. These things are what our president is trying to accomplish to our country. While reading his SONA, I felt happy because despite of the numerous problems has been encountered by our country, there are still improvements in our nation. President Aquino cited economic achievements including the increase of GDP growth. He said 7.8% GDP growth during the third quarter of 2013 and it was the “highest recorded growth” in Southeast Asia. He also said that there is an increase of the number of tourists visited the country. He is very confident at the year 2016 more tourists will come. Well it is really a good news for our economy and for everyone. He also cited about the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program ( 4Ps) which helps many poor families, and the increase of TESDA graduates. Such programs helps those people who didn’t have enough money to sustained their basic needs and those who cannot afford their studies. It was so nice to know that our government is making alternative ways to remove poverty in our country. But we all know it is not enough to solve this kind of dilemma because not only the government could break this poverty, but it is us who can solve it. Like what PNOY said “Government has been

Effective communication is key to making any relationship work. Communication can be verbal (speaking), as well as non-verbal (facial expressions, body language, etc.), and can dictate how compatible two people are, and how long a relationship may last. Communicating includes expressing emotions, interaction, touch and others that dictate how the relationship between two people will develop. Being able to open up to your partner, and covey your feelings allows for a better understanding, and greater rapport which are all important. Effective communication can be directly connected to Reiss’s wheel theory of love, and the four concepts that are part of the marriage market endogamy, exogamy, homogamy and heterogamy all of which can help explain fundamentals of relationships, as well as the different types.…

Purpose: To observe and differentiate between the four different types of chemical reactions. Variables: The independent variables are the sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, magnesium, copper, copper (11) sulfate, silver nitrate, oxygen, lead(11) nitrate, sodium carbonate, copper (11) sulfate pentahydrate. The dependent variables are the chemical reactions that are being looked for. For example decomposition, synthesis, single displacement or double displacement of compounds or elements . Hypothesis: Part 1 : I believe that magnesium burning in oxygen will have synthesis reaction because the magnesium will react with the oxygen in the air forming MGO where before the two elements were separate but with added heat they have been able to become a new compound. Part 2: I believe that when the sodium chloride and silver nitrate are mixed a double displacement reaction will occur, making sodium nitrate and silver chloride because sodium is very reactive and therefore when the two elements react they will be switched with one another. Part 3: I believe that a double displacement reaction will occur when lead (11) nitrate and sodium carbonate mix because the sodium will pull the nitrate compound from the lead and the carbonate will be forced to bond with the lead. Part 4: I believe that a single displacement reaction will occur when copper (11) sulphate and magnesium are mixed because on the activity series magnesium is more reactive than copper and will therefore pull the sulphate away and bond with it. Part 5: I believe that a single displacement reaction will occur when silver nitrate and copper are mixed because on the activity series copper is more reactive than silver and will therefore pull the nitrate away and bond with it. Part 6: I believe that a decomposition reaction will occur when the pentahydrate is heated because the water will have evaporated leaving only copper sulphate without any drops of water in it.…

“Now is the time for change.” This is what we have been heard from all media forms since the election has finally ended, heeding the triumphant sound of another spectrum of hope as it enters the palace of ascendancy – the new administration. Knowing the fact that this will be a roaring summon for the Filipino masses. This is now our time to heal the wounds and lift up ourselves from the ruthless claws of the past administration. However, our aspiration for change would not become a reality if we let pessimism, sluggishness, and unconsciousness to bury ourselves in the deadly quicksand of stagnancy.…

Change could not be done overnight either six years is not enough but even if the president is strangled by these truths he is still persistent to continue what he started; whoever people he might meet head-on in the process, whatever cost may it take. This was the one my contemplation of the opening statement of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) held last July 22, 2013 in Batasan Pambansa Complex. His very promising statements captures the heart of the masses for it gave confidence for the many that the president himself is ready to combat corrupt public administrators and it pledged hope for the citizens of the country, an undying hope for a enhanced change and a better country. The fourth years of his administration has started and so let’s scrutinize what news he brings about the state of the country.…

State of the Nation Address of His Excellency Raphael Anthony DL. Torres President of the Philippines To the Congress of the Philippines (Delivered at the Session Hall of the House of Representatives, Batasan Pambansa Complex, Quezon City, on January 12, 2013) Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Speaker of the House Feliciano Belmonte,Vice President Jejomar Binay, Justices of the Supreme Court, distinguished members of the diplomatic corps, honorable members of the House of Representatives and of the Senate, our leaders in the local government, members of our Cabinet, officers of the military and polic, my fellow public servants, and of course, to all the Filipinos now watching here and all over the world, a good day to all! We all know all the hardships that our country faced during the past year. Earthquakes, fires, landslides, deadly typhoons like Pablo and even deadlier rains such as Habagat. But despite all of this, the Philippines, is still a nation to be reckoned with. Ranking 17 th in the world as the most giving, we the Filipino people truly are one of the most selfless and loving people in the world, which only shows that even if we get hit by all these calamities several times and even do it all over again, we can still manage to stand up, help others and smile. That's why this year, we are ready to face whatever calamity may struck us, be it natural or man-made. This new year is not just a new start for all of us. It is also a reminder, not to look back in the past, the problems put on our shoulders by the past, and forget it and just instead, focus on the present and look forward to the future. If we are ready to face the natural and man-made calamities this year, then we are ready to face the face of the brand new Philippines! First, natural calamities are acts of God, to which we can do nothing about. But what we can do is be prepared, especially now that we are experiencing the adverse effects of climate change. That's why, this year the national…

    Philippines Economy

I consider this as a good news for us Filipinos. We may not feel the economic growth for now but it’s actually a good thing that we have indicators of how well or poor our economy is doing. This article only means that we will now be able attract more investors to invest in the Philippines. More foreign investors means more job opportunities just like jobs for construction workers. And yes, it is not permanent but if this will continue, life will be a lot easier for the future generations. Our concern should not just be for ourselves but for the future of our country. We need to work the common good. We should all be positive in dealing with our problems and consider news like this as a blessing. More positive news like this is an indication that our economy is doing very well. It feels really good to know that this is actually happening. Despite all that we have encountered in the past years, during the past administration, we are still able to survive and are trying to improve even more. If we really want to contribute to the growth of our economy, we should learn to be productive. Don’t contribute to the growing rate of unemployment. Look for a stable job instead to help feed your family and in that simple way, you can greatly help the economy of our nation. Anything worth having is worth working hard for. Those things that we have quickly achieved will not last long. So we have to continue to work hard for ourselves and for other people. And little by little, we will be able to save our nation. Let us believe in what our leader can do and what we can do for our country. News like this is favorable to us. This only means that our President is really trying to fulfill his promises.…
