Racism
Racism is one of the world’s major issues today. Many people are not aware of how much racism still exists in our schools workforces, and anywhere else where social lives are occurring. It is obvious that racism is bad as it was many decades ago but it sure has not gone away. Racism very much exists and it is about time that people need to start thinking about the instigations and solutions to this matter. Many people believe that it depends on if a person was brought into the world as a racist or not but that is not the case at all. In fact, an individual cannot be born a racist but only learn to become one as they grow from child to adulthood. Basic causes, mainstream, institutions, government, anti racism groups, and even some hidden events in Canada’s past are a few of the possible instigations and solutions to racism.

To begin with, frustration is a very common cause of racism. If one is having some sort of a social problem, they tend to get very angry with people who are not even concerned with their situation. For instance, when a person is having a tough time economically, they find it easy to blame immigrants for taking away their jobs or creating fewer opportunities (Abanes 1992,12-15). Personally, I don’t think there is an answer. Racism is one of the many things that America was built on and it’s all we know. From the beginning, we have separated ourselves by race; It’s like second nature. It’s virtually impossible to change the way an entire society thinks when they as well as their ancestors were raised that way. I know that we have come a long way but racism will always be a part of society. Some people never change, and it’s not their fault because they were raised that way. I don’t find it sad that there is no answer to racism because it’s just one of the things that we all have to deal with in life. Life will never be perfect and we all have to deal with problems such as racism. We have to deal with criminals, war, and recessions, so dealing with racism is no…

Preponderance of pages in the annals of history has a lot to say about the menace of Racism. In their endless prints, racism is concisely described as the “belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her innate biological characteristic”.( archive.com). The above definition hints that racism is an expression of individual’s state of mind; we are never born racist, rather we chose to be, by believing what we want to believe. Racism is a very sensitive topic. It’s a topic that is even worse to teach about let alone write about, because its intricacies was buried in a web that runs gamut evolution theories to sets of beliefs of some human sects who just…

Racism is a global problem that has existed throughout the history of mankind. Despite the different kinds of measures taken against racism including African-American Civil Rights movement, Anti-Apartheid Movement, Hate Crime Laws, or bans on any racism manifestations, it continues to be a constant concern. For some people, it is a vague concept, because it reveals itself in different forms. For others, it is simply based on unreasonable believes and hate. So racism, after all, became a label that is used for humiliation, based on hatred of the individual or even entire ethnic groups. I will try to address the problem of racism from several points of view taking into account the areas in which racism exists and manifest itself; to prove that…

Racism has predominately focused itself around the African American population, however, has not been associated with “white” individuals. There has always been a racial divide between the two groups and this is evident in bell hooks’ article, which illustrates how “whites” have made their identity as fear, power and terrorism. This chapter also goes on to discuss how the “blacks” have experienced different aspects of terrorism by the dominant white society. Due to both white supremacy and white privilege, African Americans were treated extremely poorly as slaves instead of humans. There was the belief that “whites” were misusing the power they had, and the misuse of power would lead to negative impacts on the black community. Although the black community adapted to the values and the habits of the “whites,” they were hoping for the “whites” to finally get over the need to terrorize their people. In the article, Hooks discusses that even though times have changed, the black population still feels as if they are being terrorized and are rarely close to the “whites.” Through the misuse of power due to the “whites,” which led to the rejection of the black community by society, it has made the “blacks” feel the need to give up their identity and try to fit in with the white society.…
