qualities of a good teacher
Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world Nelson Mandela (2001). It involves acquiring knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will play a part of their life. The kind of education a person receives is essential and can only be manifested in the early years of schooling. The goal of the professional educator is to transform his or her students, to inspire them to think, to feel, and to experience citizenship as active members in a democratic society (Dewey, 1916; Buber, 1965; Noddings, 2003). Therefore being a good teacher depends upon choosing the right career path, being compassionate and caring and being dedicated to excellence.
The career path a person chooses must suit his or her interests. Teaching is a special calling it is not a job that is suited to all. Education is about seeing passion an enthusiasm in what you do.teve Erwin). Teaching encompasses far more than impacting knowledge from teacher to students. It should be a passion and not just a career solely chosen due to its potential perks. The best teachers are passionate, and have a love to teach. Their genuine love for children and desire to influence students in a positive manner is core. These teachers possess the ability to make learning more interesting by integrating creative methods. It’s about motivating your students to learn and making learning a memorable experience.

“Teaching and learning take place only when students are convinced that the teacher cares about them” (Bulach, Brown, & Potter, 1998; Rich, 1997). Having a teacher who genuinely cares fo will intrinsically motivate students to do well. Students need to feel welcome around teachers .A caring teacher will be respectable and give positive support and provide a learning environment where students feel comfortable and eager to learn. Good teachers are able to work with different learners example visual, auditory or kinetic learners. Students will develop positive attitudes and perform better if the teacher is compassionate and caring.
