Can you imagine a world where higher education stops by now? What about globalization and all the technological advances? Do you think the world would keep moving at the same pace? Probably, if education stops as well would stop the progress and advances. So, higher education in the United States is important for at least two reasons: benefit the community and allows us to identify ourselves.
Education is the source of progress and success and the community should be the one who takes advantage of it. According to Arthur W. Chickering (2010) the social institutions with more importance in order to have citizens with adequate levels of cognitive, moral, and intellectual capacity are colleges and universities. Therefore, the significance of educational institutions can be considered as a primary necessity in order to the society to develop and grow the right way, where the coexistence between citizens is adequate and the behavior is reasonable.

A higher level of education means progress in all senses. As I mentioned before, when achieving a degree not only us and the society benefits from that, also the country and the entire world.
Nowadays, we are living in a world where the technological advances and globalization are quite noticeable compared to what it was 10 years ago. Can you imagine living now without internet or cellphones? We probably consider that as returning to live in the Stone Age again. The truth is, that all the technological advances, market growth, and globalization is due to the achievement of a higher level of education of certain people. All those advances are favorable not only for us as individuals, but also for the community, the country, and the entire
