To find the order size for Company A you need to use the economic order quantity model. This will give the smallest total cost to the company. First you need to find the holding cost. To find the holding cost you multiply the annual holding cost rate by the unit cost of the item (Ch=IC). In this example the annual holding cost rate is 3% and the unit cost is $500 (Ch=3%X$500 or Ch=$15). Now that you have the holding cost you can find the optimal order size. To find the optimal order size you take the square root of 2 times the demand times the ordering cost divided by the holding cost. Q*= the square root of 2(D)(Co)/Ch or Q*= the square root of 2(400,000)(42)/15. When you complete this equation you get 1,496.66. Because you can not create a partial laptop you need to round up. Thus giving you 1,497 laptops as the optimal ordering size.…

Many find it interesting to glimpse inside the lives of famous thinkers in an effort to understand where such thought and intelligence is rooted. Famous thinkers have little in common with what makes them reach their level of achievement (Goodman & Fritchie, 2011). In that tone, here is a peek into the routines and rituals of Martin Luther King Jr. and Cornel West that writers, philosophers, and statesmen have depended on to keep their work on track and their thoughts flowing. Whether you need inspiration to make it through the next college semester of your bachelor’s degree, finishing up your master’s degree program, or are working on a future best-selling novel, explore the contributions to society these men have created, how their personal, social, and political environments helped with their creativity, how they solve their ideas and problems, how their ideas were implemented, as well as what they could have done differently along with comparing their creative process.…

As a trainer, teacher and assessor my roles are many and varied. As part of my day to day work I may not only deliver lessons but also carry out theory assessments, practical assessments and sometimes interviews. I may have to motivate and liaise as well as guide and assess. I will have to keep records and be a subject specialist as well as liaise internally and impart information and advice sometimes on a personal level. The first impact I play regarding my role is either interviewing possible candidates or meeting and greeting them on the first day of their course. Meeting potential apprentices/apprentices on their first day induction requires me to make a good first impression and aim to create a degree of respect and professionalism from the onset.…
