Pros And Cons Of Public Service Alliance Of Canada
The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has been active for fifty years, and through this time has strived to achieve the current goals of its members. As a union PSAC represents over 170,000 workers across Canada, and through this representation fights for rights, wages, working conditions and benefits. In order to remain informed and current PSAC must listen to its member’s ideas and complaints, and take into account the many changes in society and the workplace as our nation evolves. As the fiftieth anniversary of PSAC approaches, the organization must reflect on its past achievements, and plan for the future of the union. Canadian society continues to become more diverse in needs and cultural ideals, and throughout this transition PSAC must modify their perspectives and missions to suit the needs of the group. Travel and working abroad are becoming more popular as the younger generation enters the workforce. Post-secondary institutions endorse travel and studying in other countries however many students are reluctant to pay for the rising travel and education costs. Instead, individuals plan to travel after finishing their degree or course. The Public Service Alliance of Canada has a strong history of defending its members and fighting for ambitious milestones. In the past fifty years the organization has accomplished many goals suitable to the obstacles its members face. In order for the continuous advancement of the union, members of PSAC must voice their opinions to ensure that their values are being represented in the most effective manner. PSAC can continue to advance as a union by assessing the future goals of members and the dynamic perspectives and challenges that can be associated with these goals. In my opinion, the future of PSAC will be influenced by the changing societal values of leisure and flexibility in the workplace, and that travelling abroad will play a major role in public service and the business world. By remaining relevant and up-to-date on current issues, the Public Service Alliance of Canada can competently manage and grow for yet another fifty
