Process Essay: How To Change A Tire
How to change a tire
In theory changing a tire is simple, take the old tire off and put the new one on. That can actually be very difficult and, if done carelessly, dangerous. Changing a tire should be a fluid process that everyone who is driving should know how to do. I do feel as though this is starting to become a skill more than common knowledge.
The first step is to assess your situation and gather all of the items that you will need to complete this task. You will need a tire iron, a hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle, and a spare tire or temporary tire called a donut, for this I will be referring to the spare tire as that is what I use. You then need to place your jack under the car, which the placement of is detrimental to your safety. If you place the jack under an unstable part of the vehicle it could move or bend what the weight is on and seriously injure or kill you. If you are using the jack that came with your vehicle it will sometimes have instructions on where exactly to place the jack. If you are not using the original jack then you will need to look for a flat sturdy spot, usually located around the area you are need to lift. Once you have found that location then you can raise the jack just enough to put pressure on it and yet not enough to actually raise your vehicle. This is for safety reasons, because before you actually raise the car up you need to loosen the lug nuts on the tire. You will want to loosen them enough to be able to easily turn the lug nuts but not enough to where the tire will tilt on the rotor. Once you have completed that you can then raise the jack up enough to be able to freely rotate the

Hook up all of the belts and bolts, connect the motor to your battery, and fill the engine with oil and any other fluids such as power steering, transmission, brake, etc. that you removed while the car was without its engine. Once you’ve completed the final touches on your engine, be sure that you have assembled everything correctly; you can check with an engine building guide or manual. After putting the finishing touches on your 383 Stroker motor, finally close the hood, and you are ready for a test drive. I recommend that you take it slow at first, and make sure not to rev past the 2,000 revolution per minute mark. If everything sounds good after a few miles, you can open it up and drive…

Many believe that setting a clear goal is the key to success. But the fact is, goals can help you; they don’t even belong to you. Your characteristics and qualities are the genuine forces that can really make you successful. In the story, “Through the Tunnel”, it is Jerry’s own persistence and dignity that help him reach his goal. His persistence made him keep going while his own dignity helped him to make up his mind. The first step before even touching the vehicle is to get familiar with your owner’s manual to find out the oil type and filter needed. Each car uses different types of oil, so make sure you get the right kind of oil and filter with it. Many stores that sell oil filters have a book that can be referred to for finding the correct filter needed for a specific vehicle. Specific tools are needed to access your oil system. A wrench, preferably a socket wrench will be needed to remove the oil plug. Another wrench for the oil filter removal and an oil pan for clean and safe collection of the old oil are also needed. You will also need a jack or ramps to lift the car up for easier access to the undercarriage of the vehicle.…

Changing a tire is a useful skill to know, whether stranded on the highway or just changing it at home. A lot of people seem to be scared to change their own tire, usually in front of the car falling off the jack and landing on them or them forgetting to tighten the lug-nuts and the tire falling off while they are driving. As long as you do everything correctly, there is nothing to worry about. Main things you need to complete this task are a spare tire, jack, tire iron and a brick to block your tire off. First of all you want to set your parking brake, whether it is a hand or foot brake, SET IT!! This will obviously lock your tires. Next you want to get out your spare tire, tire iron and car jack. Before…

People these days like to put different types of accessories on their trucks. There are so many different things that you can do to a truck, for example; there are suspension lifts, mud tires, rims or wheels, brush guards, pipes, and a lot of different lights. My personal favorite would be the LED light bar it is my latest attachment to my truck. To install the light bar the first step you need to take is to attach the light bar to the truck it comes with mounts that will go wherever you want to place it on your truck, secondly you are going to run a wire from the light bar to the battery, then you will run an extension off of that same wire to a fuse box that is in the driver side dashboard and attach the wire to the correct fuse in the box, finally you will run a wire from the fuse to the switch that…
