The main advantage of attending a public school is that you get much less competition and stress than attending a private school. However, the drawbacks are that a public school generally has a lower standard of education than a private school's. While that seems like a vital disadvantage compared to the private school, I think that having a lower standard of education than a private school's might be for the better. With a lower standard of education than a private school's, public school students will have to work harder to succeed, which builds perseverance and determination. These two traits are, in my opinion, essential to a successful and secure future.…

Homeschooling is fine but going to a public school may be able to better help students. There are a lot of reasons why going to a public school would be better than being homeschooled. Students that go to a public school are more likely to graduate, have better social skills, and have better jobs. Homeschooling may stop students from ever leaving their home or town. This is because of the students social skills.…

Public schools and Charter schools are different in every way imaginable. Attending either a Private school with a religious background or a Public school can have advantages and disadvantages. Both Private and Public schools have their respective benefits; however, private school has countless amounts of benefits. From Kindergarten through eighth grade, I attended a 6A size public school with approximately one thousand kids attending. Prior to my freshman year, I decided to move to a private school for my highschool years. I found myself in a class A school with approximately one hundred students. In private schools, a student can find an enhanced education system, courteous and loving students and teachers, and endless opportunities in all aspects.…
Introduction: When it is time to attend school, how will you choose between public and private schools? While you will be attending yourself or sending your children to school your ultimate goal is to find a school that will meet you or your child’s needs. Having had first-hand experience with both schools, it allowed me to compare differences of each school system.…
In reviewing the literature surrounding charter school enrollment, it is essential to investigate potential relationships with other school-related variables, such as racial segregation, academic achievement, and academic opportunities. Moreover, the context of charter schools suggests that enrollment in charter schools are correlated with gentrification in some neighborhoods, thereby answering the question: Who exercises school choice? As per Jordan and Gallagher (2015), white upper-income parents are more likely to exercise school choice, since low-income families face several constraints that affect their ability to exercise school choice. Furthermore, Jordan and Gallagher cite various qualitative studies indicating that gentrifiers often…
The first day of school is a rite of passage for most children. The step from home or day care to school is huge: they are a big kid now. However, sometimes the local Public School, especially in rural or economically challenged areas, can be an uncertain, questionable and scary place, and yet parents are expected to entrust them with their five or six year old child. Some years ago, when my daughter was ready to enter school, she and I had just such an experience, and we began to seriously search for an alternative school for her to attend. What we discovered was a Charter School: a possible solution for parents, enabling them to take more control of their child’s education. For my daughter and our situation, it was an excellent choice. Today, fifteen years later, the Charter School movement is stronger than ever and I believe I would still make the same choice. However, as a former employee of one of the leading Schools of Education in the US, I learned the complexity of the issues involved. By comparing student achievement measurements only, the option of a Charter School can be a good alternative to an education in Public Schools.…
To begin with, private schools only admit a certain number of students. According to the NCES Schools and Staffing surveys, the results display that private schools on average have less than half the size of an ordinary public schools. This means that the classrooms have a smaller amount of people, which means fewer disturbances allowing you to focus better. Focus enables you to achieve higher grades by allowing you to complete your work at ease. Moreover, since there are less people, everyone receives a greater amount of attention from the teacher. This ensures that each student can form a stronger relationship with their teacher, which helps improve on academic success due to the fact that the teacher will have a better sense of how a student learns. With this knowledge, when a student encounters a problem, the teacher will be able to help guide them through using a system that the student learns best with. Since there are a restricted number of students in the school, it provides an advantage to each and every one of them.…
There are many factors that go into making sure a school is a good match for a child. One important factor is class size. This has been an issue that has been addressed on many levels including the state level and how they regulate class size within the public school system. Private school’s have become a more popular choice since they can regulate how many students can be in a class. This enables a private school to have smaller classes although it will cost more money.…
- Children feel that they are independent enough to make decisions without consulting their parents when they are in public school.…
The private schools are more secure because tuition is paid for the children to attend school. Since parents are spending money for the children to attend the schools the staff and authority is more protective and aware of what is going on. Most of the parents are involved and bring in family lawyers to prevent bullying from taking place. In public schools children are bullied because it is free to attend school and staff members are under paid especially teachers. I have witnessed a teacher bullying a child before. The child is known to have a behavior problem and tended to always get into trouble. One day he decided not to be on good behavior and the teacher said “Well, you have been good all day you must have taken some stronger meds today?” All of the children laughed at him because the children knew he take meds for ADHD and the children knew she used his condition as a joke. The teacher waited until it was a classroom full of children to put the child to…
Another thing that public schools offer that home based schools do not, are the extracurricular classes and sports. This allows the child to learn social skills that cannot properly be taught when not in a social setting.…
The public school education isn’t one that is the same for all kids in America. Public schools are a public good just like waste removal, parks, street lamps and even our national defense. However, because public school funding comes strictly from property taxes, and not from a government level, your income is directly correlated with your child’s education. Now, some of you might not see a problem with this but let’s break this down.…
