The main objectives of this bill soon to become before the legislature is narrowed to two words reduce crimes. The goals of the same bill will really come to the same as the objectives of the bill. If someone had a crystal ball and could determine how the world could successfully accomplish this mission, charging only a dollar for each failed attempt of the past, they could become easily a millionaire. The secrets of reducing crimes are hidden in every criminal’s minds but they are only a single part of the equation.
If the legislature decides to pass this bill they are going to need to figure the anticipated cost for each person convicted for the crime of armed robbery. Because the current cost in the imprisonment of a convicted person is approximately too high for to house an inmate. It is cheaper to give them a conviction and let them go than to house the inmate because the tax payers are paying top dollars to house them.

My team and I believe there was a crime committed and at some point the defendant was in the victims home and stole some of her property. There was a fight or struggle of some sort because the victim has the defendants skin under her fingernails. Drugs were found in both party’s apartments, blood stained the carpet and rope was discovered in the victims’ apartment, which was used to tie the victim up at some point. In the defendants home a journal was discovered with strange journal entries talking about God’s work and purchasing rope, rags and a hunting knife to fulfill his destiny. 300 photos were hung all over the wall and the defendant was talking about being God and about aliens. If you want to charge the defendant with murder you need physical proof my client murdered the victim. Yes, we realize the evidence may point to the defendant committing the crime and maybe he did kill Miss Opee but at this time we do not know for certain. Even though we have all this evidence against Mr. Dents, the only real solid evidence you have is the skin under the fingernails. We do not know if that came from a struggle, a fight, she could have slapped him for some reason or it could have even been from a consensual sexual encounter between the two of them. In our opinion I believe he should have a psych evaluation administered to even determine if he is able to stand trial based on his mental status. During sentencing the convening authority over the criminal court proceedings makes a determination of how the guilty party should be punished. Have you ever wondered where and how our tax money being spent? We pay taxes for services that we all benefit from as a community. Things like roads, law enforcement, libraries, transportation systems, to live comfortable and safe. However; a very big chunk of that money goes towards prisons and jails. California’s current prison budget is almost $10 billion dollars (Jerrod). Even this sum is not enough to incarcerate all of the offenders. California will need an additional two to four billion dollars to address the overcrowded problem (Hayes). This does not necessarily mean that the crime rate has increased, this just means that politicians need to change the way our prison system works. In the end we are the ones paying for everything. Statistics have shown that the crime rate has decreased over the years but prison population continued to grow (Mayeux). This has started since 1980s when California released a series of strictest mandatory sentencing laws and stringiest parole policies in the nation (Young). These actions have increased prison population by 700 percent since the 1980s (Young). All at the expense of taxpayers which costs us $32 billion dollars yearly nationwide and keeps growing (Kieso). Government cut budgets for education but they keep adding money to correction and rehabilitation sector (Mayeux). Prisons are overcrowded to the point that Supreme Court ordered our state to release 46,000 prisoners because there is just no room for them (Jerrod).
