Introduction

Why are the concepts of responsibility, authority, and accountability closely related? They are closely related because they are part of the essential factors for many people or even for team success for advancement. It is meant for a person to be able to reach a goal or an objective. there is and should always be a leader in charge and that is delegate to the work .then is the responsibility that is a person who is give a task that they can be trusted with and can understand the amount of trust given for the task needed to get done .the accountability is a person who takes the responsibility to be accountable for what is done. Why can’t a supervisor’s personal accountability be delegated? I think u can delegate the main action and the decision that are being made but not the responsibility for the main outcome from the action and decision.
Why are many supervisors reluctant to delegate? It is part of the job there are at some point needed to be delegated they have to delegated task and roles and responsibilities to the employees. There are some mangers that feel if they should delegate our not they feel ambivalent about if they should do it. What benefits typically accrue to a supervisor who learns to delegate? The delegation has multiple effect not only the delegating benefits but to the staff and the company. The one delegating has reduced the workload and because of that can focus all the efforts and energy into something that has more needs for the skills. The manger that is delegating is giving more time to researcher the business treads. Delegation is and can be a very powerful staff motivator.

Step one of any effective delegation or any task is to have a clear and concise understanding of the objective or mission. You can’t expect to tell people to go from point A to point Z if they don’t fully understand the scope and limitations of the task. Imagine also being told to bake a cake then being reprimanded because it’s not a double stacked, low sugar, chocolate frosted cake. A manager can’t delegate a basic block of instructions and expect a finished detailed task. How many of us have been on the receiving end of bad instruction and vague guidance. No doubt that feeling of confusion and vagueness transferred to the work ethic and outcome of that mission. A leader in order to have a successful outcome must master the fine art of effective communication and ensure that his desired end results are understood by all.…

I agree with Morrison’s principles and I also make use of these principles when conducting supervisions with staff members. I agree with the thought that the supervision is the most important relationship. It gives opportunity to the supervisee and the supervisor in order to build a mutual relationship. It is important to be able to supervise correctly. If the supervision is not structured, it is less effective, it is important to maintain boundaries and have clear expectations of the supervision. Some staff members may look at a supervision as a form of counselling. In this case, the staff is required to be informed about the process and the content of supervision. And again, being a supervisor one…

A supervisor, foreperson, team leader, overseer, cell coach, facilitator, or area coordinator is a manager in a position of trust in business. “A good supervisor places a high priority on coaching employees. Good coaching involves working with employees to establish suitable goals, action plans and time lines.” (Carter McNamara, PhD, 2010) The US Bureau of Census has four hundred titles under the supervisor classification. An employee is a supervisor if he/she has the power and authority to do the following actions. For example like give instructions and/or orders to subordinates, held responsible for the work and actions of other employees. A supervisor is an employee that has been promoted to a higher standard because that person understands and has experience in the area they work in. The supervisor is the person in between the manager and the employees of that company or organization. In some cases some supervisors can be the middle man for the function of the business. 2.1 – There are several aspects of my job that I would regard as supervisory or management duties. One example of this was when I delegated tasks to other work peers. This basically means that work I have to have completed by the end of the day for arguments sake, I would delegate and pass on to others. Such as welding that needs to be completed, I would pass this onto a welder and explain what needs doing. He would then go and carry out this task for me. This is very much part of my supervisory role as it is done on a daily basis, mainly at the beginning of the day before work commences. Once I have delegated work, I can then move onto another aspect of my management duties which is general supervising and overlooking of the work that I have just delegated out. This is carried out by doing a general walk round of the area that I have men working in. They will be carrying out tasks that I have previously delegated to them and so I just need to check that they are completing the work given to the standard of quality I require and more importantly, safely. However, this is only to be done every so often as you don’t want to be stood watching over their every move – this could intimidate them and put them off doing their work correctly. The final aspect of my job that holds supervisory qualities is being approachable so that people can come to you with any issues and problems they may have. This happens on a daily basis. Any problems that the men may have, they come to me and I deal with the issue. In order that they feel they can do this, you have to have an approachable manner so that they feel comfortable confiding in you and can trust your confidentiality if it is a private matter.…

In this same environment, when delegating on the spot individual tasking to subordinate group members, the leader is making universal leaders for different task to be accomplished. For example, I am assigned to a recovery team. All members of my team are on the parachute recovery detail for the Orion space capsule, and we are all lead by a subordinate engineer. Once we reach the impact zone, the engineer takes lead and appoints each one of us to a specific task. My task is to take a few guys and properly recover the drogue parachute using my expertise. Now that I’ve broken away with my own group, I’ve become a universal leader. I was allowed to conduct my recovery using my vision, and abilities to motivate my group to do it in an efficient manner. We are expected to follow orders and admit to our mistakes. It is unacceptable for any person to commit careless or illegal actions and deny them or lie about them. We should understand that we are not the only ones who are expected to be accountable. Our superiors are in their positions greatly as a result of their record of accountability. It is unlikely that any person who does not hold themselves accountable for their actions would ever be trusted in a position of superiority. They are in that position to be an example and to lead. It should me a daily reminder of what you want to accomplish with yourself.…

The first trait a supervisor must possess is professional competency. In order to be effective, a supervisor must have the knowledge base or skill level required for the type of work that they has been appointed to oversee. They must have an idea of what is expected of the group as a whole. Since I have been an employee of the local cable company, I have been fortunate to have witnessed both competent and incompetent leadership styles. Leadership loses its effectiveness whenever there is uncertainty and doubt being cast down from the top of any organization. Incompetent leadership often causes distrust within the group, therefore, causing some subordinates to alienate themselves and in turn hurting the team as a whole. With competence, there comes conviction and self assurance. I have noticed that the people in my current chain of command all have quite a few years of experience in the communications industry, and therefore possess the competency needed in order to perform the type of work they have been appointed to manage. In the…
