Primary Teachers In The Film CHALK
While viewing the movie CHALK, I analyzed the three primary teachers and determined what type of supervisory technique would be most beneficial. Mr. Stroope clearly needs a direct control approach. It is clear from his conversation with his current supervisor that her suggestions required enforcement if they were to be applied. Then there is Mr. Lowrey who clearly wants to improve, yet needs help. He will benefit from a direct informational approach where he gets the suggestions he needs and willingly applies them in his teaching. Finally, Coach Webb appears to need a collaborative approach.
