This doesn’t mean that they are better than any of us, but they have a higher responsibility, and should be treated as above. For me, a President is like royalty, like a King. A great president is one who supports and keeps the country in order following the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. This president will have love for their country and the citizens in it, doing whatever it takes to protect the sovereign -- as long as the ends are worth the means taken to procure the safety. For president Andrew Jackson, the country was nearly his family. His devotion, though admirable, does not fully qualify him to be considered good in the eyes of future generations. The death tolls and the financial panic he is responsible for have led to this downfall in legacy, as well as his moral standings well know at the time of his reign.…

The president is the figurehead of the country; the person people look to for reassurance and the person they blame when something goes wrong. Of the forty-four presidents that our country has seen to this day, each of them has their own distinct character and personality. Some will argue that the personality of the president shapes their performance in office. One of these people is James Barber, author of the book The Presidential Character. In his book, Barber makes an argument concerning the impact of personality and presidential performance. He believes that the character of the president matters above all, and through his system of personality types, citizens will be advised in choosing the right president through some clear criteria.…
