Ponyboy Play Monologue
The next thing I knew I was curled up on the pavement a few paces away from the choking Ponyboy. I felt like stabbing myself with the switch in my hands as I watched the prone body of the drunk Soc lying next to me. At that moment there was a silent battle raging inside my head, I wanted to run away and hide and leave Ponyboy but also how I wanted to just start that night over.
“We can’t just waste time here,” I was starting to get frantic. Then, I saw Ponyboy get up and stare at the dead body. “Johnny I think I’m gonna be sick,” he sounded like he was struggling to keep on his feet.

Along with a copy of “Gone With The Wind” or any other books they could find so Ponyboy could read on the trip. We all came back carrying a few things each, we had a hard time finding Enough money though. We guessed that we had enough to make it to Canada but I was kind of skeptical of that because of food but I suppressed that negative comment and went along with the plan that Dally and Ponyboy had created. We left for the Bus station at 2:00am and all of us were groggy and not right in the head, at least I reasoned that saying that we left half of our money with Dally. We got onto the old greyhound headed to the Canadian border without much hassle and got out of without much hassle also. All hell broke loose when Ponyboy wanted to buy a Hot Ramen and I looked into the pack we had put together and found 57 dollars, by the way we had found 120 dollars, we started to get scared.
“What are we going to do” Ponyboy whisperes
