Playstation vs. Nintendo 64
Video games are taking the entertainment business by storm. Systems are constantly improving and new systems are always in the process. The two latest systems are the Nintendo 64 and the Sony Playstation. Both have similar qualities, but they are very different. Software selection is a key point when in comes to deciding on a system. A few of the latest games, Madden 99, WWF Warzone, and NHL 99, have been made for both systems. However, the Playstation has a greater variety of role playing games. Playstation would be a better choice for someone who enjoys role playing games. It also has many more games than the Nintendo 64 does. Playstation has been out on the market for a longer period of time than Nintendo 64, this is why it has more games than Nintendo 64. When it comes to graphics, the Playstation wins again. All of the Nintendo 64 games have polygonal graphics, where the Playstation can also support film graphics for games that star real life actions. If the gamer enjoys watching a story line in a real life situation, Playstation would be the better choice to go with. When it comes to wait time, the Nintendo 64 blows away the Playstation. Some games for the Playstation take up to a minute to load. This is due to the fact that the system uses compact discs for software. On the other hand, Nintendo 64 uses cartridges. These load instantly. If you have no patients for waiting on a game to load, then Nintendo 64 is the better choice. Accessorizing the systems is a minor point, but it is still there. The Nintendo 64 comes with four controller ports, so no additional purchase is necessary (besides the actual controllers). The Playstation, however, comes with only two controller ports. If additional ports were wanted, a multitap would have to be purchased. Which costs around twenty dollars to buy at the store. Each system has its good and bad points, and both run about a hundred and thirty dollars, so it is up to the gamer to decide which qualities he

There are few professional sports rivalries that compare to that of the Yankees and the Red Sox or the Flyers and the Penguins. Well since the year 2006 when Playstation 3 was released there has been a much heated rivalry between the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. It has been a nonstop war for the development of the superior gaming system. There are many reasons one could say that one console is better than the other. In saying this, the users are correct. Each console does in fact have attributes that give one the edge over the other. As an online gamer myself, I do in fact own a Playstation 3. When one is in the market for a new gaming experience, deciding which console to purchase can be as painful as pulling teeth. Some factors that should be considered during the shopping process should be quality of online multiplayer, entertainment value, and most important to me was obtaining the most “bang for my buck.”…

The exterior of the two consoles is certainly nothing special. Both being two rather hefty looking slabs of black plastic, The Xbox looks like a 70s VHS player, while the PlayStation has the look of two stacked parallelograms. Although both of the consoles have a glossy finish to them, half of the PS4 also has a black matte finish for accented touch. In the case of the exterior lighting, the Xbox One offers very little. The only sense of light on the boxy looking console comes from the right side, where the power button resides.…

Which is better? Ps4 or Xbox One? People can argue about this topic for hours. So which is it? If people were to ask a random person the question then they’d probably answer with their preference on which console they like better. For the most part the argument between Ps4 and Xbox one is about preference. Which they like, would have, has better this and that it is all opinionated. But if people knew the facts behind the two powerhouse consoles would if shift buyers and gamers towards one more than the other or would it stay the same?…

Console gaming has certainly made a huge jump in what it used to be. I can remember the 4 bit days, where Atari's sold out stores. Now you buy a game, and it looks so real, it is like you are actually there. Many people like the controller a console has to offer, or whether they don't feel like spending the time or money using a computer, as they are far more complex.…

Apart from being so old that it’s primarily just a source of nostalgia these days, the Nintendo 64 is still amazing. It was really revolutionary in its time, and still influences games to this day. The Nintendo 64 was actually originally intended to be called the Ultra 64. Due to the fact that Nintendo wanted to keep the line of game systems titles continuous from the Nintendo Entertainment System, and then the ‘Super’ Nintendo Entertainment System, Ultra would have been next. They decided against this in the end, however, and settled for Nintendo. The 64 part came from the fact that this was the first system to use a 64 bit gaming system. While everybody accepts this fact, it was debated over by Atari, who claimed that their Jaguar system used 64 bit programming. While it did have some 64 bit programming, it was only in certain aspects of the game and not available game. In comparison, the current X-box 360’s have 128 bits. So the Nintendo 64 has half of the bits that the most advanced gaming systems today have. To account for the huge difference in the qualities of these systems, the difference is the graphics processing power. The Nintendo 64 runs at 62.5 mhz., while the X-box 360 runs at 500 mhz. So running the Nintendo 64 at 500 mhz. would have graphics half as good as any current gaming system. Considering that the Nintendo 64 was made in 1996 and the 360 was made in 2005, this proves how innovative and advanced the Nintendo 64 really was and is.…

The PlayStation gaming system has been around for many years. Now in there are plenty of features that stands out. The price is one of the most interesting factors. Sony has dropped the price in the early stage of the PlayStation 4 to affordable price of $299.00. Making it's a affordable gaming console that offers a wide range of different games. Another reason why I enjoy this gaming console it offers a built in wifi system with no extra cost. Other features that makes this brand stand out is the graphics and design of the console. Nintendo chose to not make its video game consoles backward compatible because this meant that consumers would have to spend money on a new console as well as new games and thus create more revenue. The advantages to this were that they could possibly make a lot more money because of the necessity to sell new games with new systems. The disadvantages is that many people were not interested in having to spend extra money on new games if they were able to purchase a new Sega console that allowed them to use old games as well as new ones. This lead to Sega’s ability to surpass Nintendo in sales.…
