Pit Bull Ban
When pit-bulls don’t attack? Pit bulls are thought to be aggressive, dangerous, and sometimes even lethal to other animals and people. That is why most individuals think it is sensible to have them banned in certain cities and sometimes even states, but all of these perceptions are incorrect. There are a lot of misconceptions about pit bulls that range from their temperament to their anatomy. All of these mistaken beliefs have lead Miami-Dade County to consider these dogs illegal to be owned within the parameters of the County. Due to the ban, most of the population has negative feelings against these dogs, including pre-conceived notions based on untrue proofs. The pit bull ban should be lifted in Miami-Dade County as well as in any other place they are illegal because it is unfair, discriminatory, and contradicting. Pit bulls have been described by many to be as loyal, friendly, obedient and sweet dogs. In February 2013, the American Temperament Test Society (ATTS), conducted an annual experiment testing various dog breeds and whether they passed or failed an exam that has been carefully designed to assess different characteristics of temperament (ATTS, 2013). It tests all breeds equally and without discrimination or leniency (ATTS, 2013). The test includes ten subtests, divided into five subcategories in which the canine must successfully pass according to the societies standards in order to pass the whole examination (ATTS, 2013). Dogs are considered to have failed the test if at any time they show unprovoked aggression, panic without recovery, or extreme avoidance (ATTS, 2013). Out of 870 pit bulls that have been tested since 1977, 755 have successfully passed, bringing their passing rate to 86.9%, higher than the Golden Retriever and the Dalmatian at 85.2% and 82.7% respectively (ATTS, 2013). This comes to show that pit bulls are good dogs in nature, and are some of the best tempered and obedient dogs compared to a lot of other well-known breeds.

I also fixed some sentences that seemed a little confusing and altered the wording. I also omitted some repetition of words, and substituted synonyms for words which were used frequently. Some words were also missing which kind of hurt my ethos so I fixed that as well. I reworded some sentences and added a few more words to make the statements more straightforward.
