Philo T. Farnsworth In modern day society, of the period following the second millennium, television has become the center at which a lot of people have spent their free time. Television has become such an integral part of the technologically inclined world, that it has become a major industry that seems on par with the film industry. For television to have become as ubiquitous as it has become, it had to go through years of innovation, and this innovation was the product of Philo T. Farnsworth’s original invention of the television, Philo Taylor Farnsworth was born on August 19, 1906. Philp’s birthplace was at a cabin built by his grandfather, located at Indian Creek in southwestern Utah. Philo’s grandfather, after whom he is named, built the cabin of Philo’s birth while “settling the area” due to the request made to him by Brigham Young, a leader of the Mormon Church. To provide for his family, he took on several jobs, including fixing and delivering radios, working on a logging crew, working as a door to door salesman of electrical products, and as an electrician on the railroad. With all of his professional ventures, it wasn’t until he got a supervisory position for a charitable organization managed by George Everson and Leslie Gorrell that the opportunity to bring his idea into fruition revealed itself.
