Module Aims and Learning Outcomes

To enable participants to:
Evaluate the principles and practice of qualitative and quantitative research methods within a business context;
Critically evaluate the need for and provision of information within the enterprise;
Make effective use of modern IT tools for the effective support of business information and research.

At the end of a module the learner will be expected to be able to:

To be able to develop a structured approach to investigating business problems;
Be able to collect the relevant Qualitative and Quantitative Data using primary and secondary data including electronic sources.
To be able to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data using relevant techniques.
Have the ability to apply the techniques to a range of management decision situations
Understand and apply the concepts and uses of information systems to support management functions;
Evaluate the concepts and implications of IT outsourcing, downsizing and security;
Evaluate the concepts and implications of Information Management & Knowledge Management have in an organisation.
IMPORTANT NOTICE

This coursework accounts for 40% of the module mark. The deadline for submission is 3pm on Wednesday 19th November, 2014. ALL COURSEWORK MUST BE SUMITTED ONLINE THROUGH MOODLE before 3pm. This is a group assignment (between 3 to 5 students) and all members of the group are expected to participate.

Using qualitative research, and finding the true feelings and wants of the company’s consumers, can help the company to better provide goods or services for the consumers or even improve customer interaction to reduce bad feelings about a company.
