“Because God is Real: Sixteen Questions, One Question” is a theologian book written by Peter Kreeft. Peter Kreeft, is the currently a Professor of philosophy at Boston University, whom has authored 75 books to dates. Kreeft began writing apologetic novels in 1978, and has been referred to as “Apologetic’s C.S. Lewis of our generation. Kreeft writes all his books in a dialogue fashion revolving around the most common questions Christians are trying to find on their spiritual journey. Kreeft believes this is the best writing technique from him since it can show step by step, how close we can become closer to God, similar as a person climbing up a ladder to get closer to the top. In “Because God is Real: Sixteen Questions, One Questions” Kreeft designed the book for those exploring their faith for the first time and to continuing to understand their faith. Kreeft believes that this is one of his most important novels since it …show more content…
Our destiny is to live forever with God in heaven, and that we all have a real purpose in life. As humans, we are not all-knowing, so we need help to find our true purpose in life. There is no real purpose for my life is a heresy that Kreeft works against. We exist because of God, and we are real because God is real that gives each of us an intrinsic dignity. A portion of our existence is to love God and our neighbors. Our meaning of life is to be Saint, and perform good works on earth for the Kingdom of God. We must know God and ourselves to first know why we exist. Everyone has a special gift that they are meant to use in life. We must recognize this gift, and use it correctly. I believe this is true since God gave us free will, and that we were created in God’s own image, but we are all different. We must know God and ourselves to know what we are meant to do. What we are good at, has something to do with why we

One burning and enduring problem in philosophy to which we have given considerable examination is the question of the existence of God--the superlative being that philosophers have defined and dealt with for centuries. After reading the classic arguments of St. Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas, the contentious assertions of Ernest Nagel, and the compelling eyewitness accounts of Julian of Norwich, I have been introduced to some of the most revered and referenced arguments for and against God's existence that have been put into text. All of them are well-thought and well-articulated arguments, but they have their holes. The question of God's true existence, therefore, is still not definitively answered and put to rest; the intensity of this debate probably never will mitigate. Many theologians and academics honestly admit that no matter what any philosopher may assert regarding this topic, whether or not a certain person believes in God's existence is a question of faith and nothing more.…

We all may have asked ourselves this question. Who made us? What is our purpose? Well we find in Genesis, God created Adam and Eve. Adam was created first, showing that God wants the man to be the leader of the household. Then God made Eve from the rib of Adam, signifying that woman is to be the helper or support to the man. Ultimately, when you are married, you are to be united as one. Genesis 2:18-25. We are created in the image of God, which means we are to be like God and serve God for His purpose. Scripture tells us that everything we do, we are doing it for the Lord, 1 Corinthians 10:31.…

    3. The question of meaning/purpose- Why Does mankind exist? Christians believe that mankind exists to glorify the creator. This is accomplished through a wide variety of efforts and means. Some of these efforts include worship, (Psalm 95) obedience, (Philippians 2:12-13) prayer, and thanksgiving. The object of these efforts is to establish a personal relationship with God. The end result of the relationship being eternal life where the individual pleasures in God’s immeasurable glory for eternity.…

Everyone wants to have a purpose in life. Christians find their purpose in glorifying their Creator. This is accomplished by being a light to the fallen, sinful world; showing them the glory seen through the death and resurrection of our Lord (Matthew 27-28, Matthew 5:13-16). Glorifying God can be accomplished through a variety of actions such as worshipping, obedience, and prayer but the main purpose is found in Matthew 28: 18-20 in the passage known as the Great Commission. If we are not making disciples then we are glorifying God for others to see. Glorifying God goes beyond the intimate moments of prayer or worship but is an outward expression, sanctification, which allows the whole world to see something is different. “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven,” (Matthew…

But free will gets in the way and choices are made that are not in his plan, so my purpose was not clear to me. I didn't have a goal. Amazingly, God gives us a second chance (or 2 or 20) and in our obedience He shows us what is best for us, what He wants for us. It was in this season of my life, in obedience to Him, that He revealed His purpose to me. He gave me a goal. I was at my women's bible sturdy and talking about God's plans for each of us, when my friend said that she was being called to go back to school and become a Christian Counselor for teens. She explained how her involvement in the lives of the teens at our church had greatly impacted her and the decision to go back to college and "make it official". Many months before this moment, I had been praying that He would reveal His plan for me. I had been looking for a lightning bolt, but He whispered to me, "this is what I have for you." I'm not involved with the teens as my friend is, I knew that wasn't specifically for me. But a Christian counselor, Yes, this was it! I had spent the last few months walking through a tough time with my sister, sharing tears, ideas and counsel. I had become a leader in the women's ministry at my church and grown…

The Question of Meaning/Purpose- We as Christians believe that our purpose is to do the will of God. John 15:16(ESV Bible) we are appointed to go and bear fruit. In Matthew 28:19(ESV Bible) we are commanded to go and make disciples. Through-out the Bible, God has charged us with being the salt of the earth and light of the world, He has commanded us to go and compel them to come so that his house may be filled. As we can see our main purpose is to live a life that exemplifies Christ and leads others to Him.…

This question asks plainly “What is the meaning of life?” or more specifically “What’s my purpose?” The Theistic belief, as stated by Weider and Gutierrez, is that the purpose of man is to know God. The Christian can know God through a relationship that was bridged by the Messiah (John 1:18). By this salvation a purpose is given to share the Gospel (Mark 16:15).…

In order for one to understand what their purpose is or plans in life, it is important to understand what it means to be created in the image of God. Genesis 1:26 states, “And God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Because no one has ever seen what God looks like physically, there are other attributes about Him that makes Him amazing. God is full of love, compassion, kindness, joy, peace, gentleness, mercy and a host of other characteristics. Man can also inherit those same characteristics but it is dependent on one’s choices and behavior.…
