Worldview Assignment
Part One: A worldview is the sum of the beliefs, norms, and traditions a person holds in their life. These belief factors then filter how a person views, acts and responds to the various elements and issues of life.
Part Two: the Question of Origin: God has created all things (Gen. 1:1). “God is the first cause” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2011, p. 56) in creation, meaning He initiated the Ex Nihilo process of creation. Jesus Christ has created everything and is, and will always be, the sustainer of life (Colossians 1:16-17).
The Question of Identity: God created man in His image which makes humankind the highest form of creation. The Bible even goes so far as to state that we are “a little lower than the angels (Psalm 8:5). Man also has a unique calling that can only be accomplished through Christ (Philippians 1:6).
The Question of Purpose: As redeemed, set apart Christ followers are main responsibility is to bring honor and glory to Him. The Apostle Paul powerfully stated that “For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21). In this New Testament age, the purpose of all of mankind to come to salvation through Christ (2 Peter 3:9).
The Question of Morality: The Word of God has provided Christians all that is needed to live a life that is “holy, acceptable unto God” (Romans 12:2). King David beautifully compared the Word of God as a “lamp” and as a “light” to guide Christians in this sinfully dark world (Psalm 119:105).
The Question of Destiny: According to Weider and Gutierrez (2011) “Christians believe in two eternal states for all human beings: Heaven of Hell” (p. 65).Christians have a joyous eternal
