The World Wide Fund for Nature or WWF for short has worked at reducing our carbon footprint for over 45 years. Even since 1985, the World Wildlife Fund Network has invested over $1.165 billion in more than 11,000 projects. According to the WWF website, their mission is to conserve nature which they are actively doing in 100 countries with 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. There are several ways that everyone can do their part in supporting WWF. Supporters can donate money, adopt a species, or take action and directly help conserve our environment. I am going to discuss WWF’s cause and importance, how they are working to conserve nature, and how all of you can help support the cause. WWF’s goal is to conserve 19 of the world’s most important natural places and significantly change global forces to protect the future of nature. Just a few of these 19 places include; the Amazon, the Arctic, Coastal East Africa, The Coral Triangle and the Galapagos. According to www.panda.org, we are using nearly 30% more natural resources than the Earth can replenish and our activities are drastically changing the planet’s climate. If this statistic stays true it is going to become a major problem. According to www.globalissues.org, every living thing on Earth is a part of a complex, interconnected web of ecosystems and habitats that provide our life support system. If this system breaks down there will be no chance of survival. An essential part of WWF’s efforts to influence the course of conservation is their partnerships. WWF has 4 different kinds of partnerships: corporate, government, humanitarian, and marketing. Some of WWF’s corporate partners are, IKEA, Nike, HP, Johnson & Johnson, Toyota, and The Coca Cola Company. WWF uses its global reach, scientific expertise, and in-depth knowledge to help all of these companies improve their business practices to make them more eco-friendly. By working with these companies WWF is dealing

For their time, Gifford Pinchot, John Muir, and Aldo Leopold held to beliefs that would influence conservationist ideals for many years to come. These pioneers of the concept of "harmony between men and land" (Leopold, 1949, p. 217) constructed a new wave of thinking towards conservation. Their work provided the foundations of contemporary thinking, which is more concerned with globalization and education than moral obligation. Although conservation is still a well discussed issue, many steps have yet to be taken to align society with the goals necessary to preserve a lush natural world. Pinchot held that the natural world exists for the sole "benefit of the people who live [on the Earth]" (Pinchot, 1910, p.33).…

Our environment is our responsibility and it is time that everyone starts working towards caring and protecting it. Although our planet is at stake and protecting it won’t happen overnight, addressing global issues of climate change needs to an integral activity for each individual. Human activity has changed our planet drastically so the actions of people need to be regulated and mitigated to ensure that the planet’s life becomes more manageable and well cared for. By doing so, we will be able to preserve the planet, humankind, and the species and combat the sixth extinction as advised by Elizabeth Kolbert. This is a very serious issue and people need to start applying the ideas of McDonough and O’Connor as well as Bill Gates. Rachel Carson, credited by many to have brought the issues of conservation to the public eye, believed that “people care about the problem of sharing the planet with other species” and that increasing this awareness would be enough to avert the global impact of Kolbert’s “sixth…

What is the world going to be like in the next 20 years? Will we still see the same animals as we see today? As a nation, the impact on the environment that we have is a very substantial amount. But what about individually impacting the environment? Many people believe that they have a little impact, so many people don’t think they need be conscious about the impact they have on the world’s animals and environment. If the world would realize that a one person, with a little impact they can join together and have 7.3 billion people having a small impact. With that big of an impact, the world would be a better living space and the future generations will get to enjoy the animals on the verge of extinction. Sandra Steingraber is an ecologist and…

When signing up to be an organ donor you usually think only your major organs will be used; however, something as small as a ligament of yours is used in popular surgeries such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions. When someone tears their ACL they usually have a choice to have an autograft, or use one of their own ligaments, but they can also choose to have an allograft, or take a cadaver’s ligament to repair it. Each has it’s advantages and disadvantages, but I personally think that the better option is the allograft because I think the advantages are better than using your own ligament from another part of your body. The advantages consist of faster operative time, less post-operative pain, and a faster recovery time.…

If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms.
