Eating Disorders
In today's society, many women and men are affected by an eating disorder each year. These individuals are prone to developing an eating disorder because of the fact that they want to be accepted by society. When certain people tell someone " you're fat", they're not realizing how two simple words can affect how a person views themselves. In an article from Huffington Post, Claire Greaves, an individual with anorexia states how she felt imprisoned by her eating disorder. Greaves states in the following quote, "I feel so trapped, so isolated, so alone. I am imprisoned by my eating disorder and screaming in silence. I’m terrified that there isn’t a way out." Greaves isn't the only one who feels trapped, many individuals nationwide suffer from an eating disorder and don’t know how to escape from it. The image above uses symbolism by representing a fork and a knife as a way of showing how having an eating disorder is similar to being in
