Persuasive Essay Against Death Penalty

and it should be abolihed. The life sentance should be more strict. I am against the death penalty,
it is wrong mainly becasue of religion and race, they also need more of a fightinh chance.
The death penatly is punshiment of execution, administered to someone legally convicted
of captial crime. The death penalty was established back in biblical times. Some prisoners have
been on death row for as long as 20 years without ever being put to death. With so many years

Romans 12:19 states, “do not take revenge,
my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: it is mine to avenge, I will
repay says the lord.” The meanng behind this says for not to take revange on your brother but
leave it up to God to deal with their punishments later. Also the ten commandents list if murder
is committed it is braking those ten commandments.
Race has alot to do with the death penalty. African Americans recieve the death penalty
at three times the rate as whites. Professor David Baldus found that during the 1980s prosecutors
in Georgia sought the death penalty for 70 % of black defendants with white victims, but for only
15% of white defendants with black victims. African Amercians make up
13 percent of the U.S. population and almost 10 percant of death inmates are African American.
Gensis 9:6 says, “who is shetteth man’s blood, by man shall have his blood shed: for in
the image of God made he man.” Punishment for murder of childeren, families, rape, and elderly
should be hamdled by the death penalty.
