Persuasive Essay About Animal Abuse
Thesis Statement: Dogs bring people happiness by being playful, comforting, and giving their owners a sense of responsibility.

Subject: I am the proud owner of a little brown dog named Bruno. I rescued him from the pound while I was in high school. The pound was unsure exactly what kind of dog Bruno was, but stated he is part Dachshund. I mentioned earlier, I rescued Bruno, but in reality he rescued me. My senior year of high school was not the greatest time for me, but owning Bruno got me through it. At the time, I just broke up with my high school “sweetheart” so to my immature young mind, I thought the world was coming to an end and I would never find someone else. Whether it was taking Bruno for walks, or trying to teach him new tricks he kept my mind occupied. I was given the responsibility to take care of him. I made sure he had all of his shots and there was fresh food and water for him. Until he was house broken, I was responsible to clean up after him. By being responsible for another being, it keeps a person centered not always thinking about themselves and their needs. Although humans and animals cannot communicate verbally, I feel dogs can sense how you are feeling and they react accordingly. Bruno knows when I am upset and he always tries to cuddle

The squeaking noise from the dog toys sends him into crazy mode. He will run from one side of the apartment to the other in the blink of an eye. When he gets the toy, he shakes it in his mouth so hard that when he lets go the toy will fly to the other side of the room. I appreciate that, of course, since I only have to throw the toy once and he takes it from there while I just watch in amusement.
