Selfishness The thought of not being able to have had the chance to know my siblings, good friends, or friendly people in our local town really makes the subject of abortion seem really simple to address. I don’t believe that there is any subject more black and white as abortion. The company we keep and those we grow up with really shape us into who we are today. The taking of a life is just a simple act of selfishness. I have three amazing sisters and one incredible brother. To even think for one minute about not having one of them in my life because of a selfish act of my mother sickens me. I thank God every day that she is as passionate am I on the subject. Each one has brought an important piece to my life, from the silly times to the more serious, and the seemingly crazy stuff. Yes we have had our share of ups and downs, but nothing I wish I did not have to have. I feel there are many aspects to the many different reasons for the thought of abortion. I think about the stories from my parents and the hard time and decisions that they have had to endure. I know that there were two time with the five of us that there were tremendous difficulties and obstacles that had to be overcome while raising us. There were times of nothing to eat, times of no money, and times of the young and immature ideas. Many of the choices to so the right thing were not easy because of choices that were made were not easy. Young love, lack of proper planning, and in the moment feelings brought my sister into this world. This time was not planned nor was it a convenience for either of them. Both young and full of dreams, this was far from where they might have thought they were going to be. I guess that’s where you can say,” you play you pay.” You just adjust to what happens and I believe that things happen for a reason. Then some twenty years later another incredible gift was given to my parents. After four

Abortion is an on-going debate throughout the United States. Americans divide 50% as pro-choice and 44% on pro-life. (Saad, 2015) Majority of women side with pro-choice, and being a woman myself, I stand with pro-choice. I believe that it’s an individual’s right to decide what they’re doing to their bodies, and no one else should be allowed to deny them of said right. There are many different reasons as to why someone would get an abortion. Whether it be from results of rape, birth control failure, teen pregnancy, or whatever the case may be, every abortion is thought out and no option is an easy option.…

Abortion is murder of an innocent life, and it is completely wrong in every way. There is no justification that could cover the fact that we are murdering our most defenseless human beings, and if anything we should be doing everything to protect them and keep them safe from danger, but yet some are doing the complete opposite. Abortion should never be an option, and one should never feel like abortion is the only choice because it is not the only choice. One must understand that abortion is not just, and people must come to their senses and realize the true outcomes of aborting a…

Clarissa Harlowe "Clara" Barton was a pioneer nurse who founded the American Red Cross. In addition to being a hospital nurse, she worked as a teacher, patent clerk, and humanitarian. At a time when relatively few women worked outside the home, Barton built a career helping others. She was never married, as she knew the restrictions of a married woman at the time, but had a relationship with John J. Elwell. During the end of the American Civil War, Barton worked at a hospital she made helping the people at the Andersonville prison camp where 13,000 people died.…

Furthermore, I struggled to get pregnant and went through infertility treatments. We also looked into adoption. Nevertheless, I have multiple friends who have weighed the decision to have abortions or to keep their babies. Moreover, some decided to terminate their pregnancies and some kept their babies. Looking back, my friends who kept their babies did not finish college and struggled to get going in life. However, at this time in life I would say they are all equally happy except for one of my friends has had severe guilt and anguish her entire life over her decision to have an abortion. Lastly, I do think about the unborn fetus and my heart breaks for missed opportunities. However, it is no one’s right to infringe their religious beliefs on any womans reproductive…

Abortion is never an easy decision, in fact its one of America's most controversial issues in today's reality, but women have none the less been making that choice for thousands of years. Studies show that about 43% of American women will have one or more abortions during their lifetime, and women's centers and hospitals perform more than a million abortions on an annual basis. Women have many reasons for not wanting to be pregnant including age, marital status, economic status, and the circumstances of their pregnancy, and thus seek out an abortion. Although many citizens view abortion as an immoral act of brutality and strongly contest its usage, others believe the choice belongs solely to the mother and the mother alone.…

Abortion is a controversy that has been argued and fought about for decades. People ask whether it’s the body of the mother or the life of the child, who is in charge? The answer to that is simple. The mother is the one in charge of her body, but while being in charge of her body she engaged in intercourse and as a result there came a baby. Now, the baby is a person too, so going forward with abortion is indeed murder. There are at least three alternatives to abortion: parenting, adoption, and interim foster care (Abortion Alternatives). Most people claim that not everyone is ready to be a parent, and they are correct. However, as was said before there are other options than just being parent. There are options that wouldn’t be murder.…

Abortions are considered "the easy was out." I feel that abortions are just selfish. There is no easy way out. I could not imagine living with the guilt of taking another's life, especially the life of something that I created, and that is dependent of me. There are so many people out there that wish they had the chance to get pregnant. If you really feel that you are not ready to be a parent then you could at least give the baby up for adoption, and make your life, that babies life, and the family adopting the babies life a lot happier.…

The topic on Abortion was once controversial in the United States and still is to this present time. Abortion can be determining as voluntary termination of a pregnancy, as the embryo or fetus is removed from the uterus in order to terminate ones pregnancy. Another form of abortion is called spontaneous abortion, which is considered to be a miscarriage or the instant lost of ones fetus. Because abortion is debatable in our society, many people exhibit a vast range of ideas and believe on such topic. Some advocate such as, Pro-life supporters and religious believers would think that abortion is murdering an innocent life. With that being said, my personal views on abortion might be presented in a different light as I think that…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…

    Against Abortion

I am against abortion as a person. To me abortion is premature murder because you are taking away a life from someone who could bring you possible happiness and love that you may not receive from a significant other or family. The little fetus inside of you is innocent and has done absolutely nothing to you and therefore it should be able to live. If you don’t have the funds for a baby or cannot provide a nice and developing environment for the child then, it would be a better choice to put it up for adoption and let someone else who is unable to conceive a child have it. Try to make someone else’s life better by filling up their lonely void for a child and happiness. To be able to have a baby is a privilege that too many take for granted when they decide to abort their babies.…

One of the first reasons why I believe that a pregnant woman should have to choice of abortion is in my opinion one of the most important reasons, rape/incest/or any other sort of crime. If a woman is raped by a strange, scary man, or even her family member, having the child that they creating during this horrible incident would be a constant tragic reminder of what happened to the poor woman. She may even be hostile towards the child and not give him/her the love that a mother should. Also, woman also fear that not only would it be emotionally and psychologically hard to deal with, but if they did give birth to the child, then put them up for adoption, if the child somehow finds her one day looking for answers it will open up old wounds. Abortion is the best answer in this situation if a woman feels that she can not emotionally, psychologically, physically, or in any way deal with be impregnated in the horrific circumstances of rape, insect, etc.…

Abortion is one of the most controversial and debated topics of this day. Abortions; the practice of removing a fertilized egg from a mother has become a highly debated issue in American culture. The reason for this is whether or not the induced expulsion of the fetus is considered murder or whether or not it is up to the mother and her interests. People that are pro life suggest that all life is considered innocent and deserves a chance at life, and it is not up to the mother whether or not she wants to keep the baby. With the altering moral standards of society, abortions are becoming ever more justified. I believe abortions should be accepted because of the numerous health risks a mother endures, religion is not a foundation for law, government should not oversee medical procedures, and lastly a pregnancy can lead to poverty.…
