While I was participating in the athletic training clinics, I had a very interesting, educative experience. There were many different parts that I enjoyed while engaging in the athletic training clinics. One of things I enjoyed about being in the clinics was being able to talk to the different athletic training students and preceptors; as well as, seeing them utilize their skills they had learned from their pervious classes and preceptors. It was also enriching to be able to watch a patient improve over time through the various techniques used such as stretching, taping, and exercising. The abilities an individual possesses are an accumulation of their previous life experiences and the various competences which have been practiced for many years. Often times, these skills are overlooked and taken for granted as we never actually think about them in terms of their effect on our potential career choices. After thinking about my personal skills, I compiled a list which included; communication, cooperation, patience, listening, helping others and perseverance; all skills which I have possessed for majority of my lifetime and have used to overcome many challenges.
