Personal Statement For National Honor Society
I am deeply honored to be among the great students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. Being nominated to be a member of the national honor society shows me that I have achieved my goal to work as hard as I possibly can to stand out among my class mates academically. I feel that this organization does great things, and I’m happy I can play a role in helping the impression that is made. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students with outstanding grades and commendable characters; I feel that I have both. Last quarter I received a 3.5. I have been a football quarterback for a while, and being a part of the team has taught me a lot about teamwork and dependability. I try to bring what I learn on the field

Ever since I can remember, I loved mathematics. The exactness of it marveled me, while its complexity intrigued me. While others regarded math as straight forward, I believed that it required an ingenuity even higher than that of the arts. To me, a math problem was a chaotic sort of Lego pieces and the answer to the problem was the finished Lego set. The real fun was in devising the instructions on how to get from the original jumbled mess to the final pristine solution. However, the other kids around me scorned math and relished in what they considered to be more imaginative pursuits, such as reading a book or drawing pictures. If I could show my peers math from the way I see it, I was sure its beauty would astound them, and they would appreciate it as much as I do.…

A member of such a society based on character, scholarship and leadership is one who can demonstrate these three tasks in their everyday lives. The ease of maintaining a balanced schedule whilst also upholding these characteristics may not be the simplest of tasks at times, even for the best students, although the drive to strive for this essence sets individuals apart from the majority. I believe that in my everyday life, I demonstrate these ideals and would heartily enjoy guiding others in them. To be exercise any of these qualities requires one’s own desire, a desire which I not only try to instill into myself, but into others as well. Being part of the National Honor Society would not only be an honor in and of itself, but an honor which is able to transcend its membership and let a person such as myself try to better the school, town, and familial communities by doing good in each of them.…

One day in seventh grade something wondrous occurred to me. At the end of the school day I was packing my belongings that I would need when I materialized at my house. Though while I was preoccupied, I espied something in my mailbox with my eyes suddenly. In matter of that fact, I decided to walk over to it. I slipped my hand through it and then grasped a letter. In result, my body very slowly went to my seat and I opened it. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I was accepted into the National Junior Honor Society. I was so thrilled that I was going ditzy with my adrenaline rising, at least in a fine way. I started cavorting up and down. My body could not stop jumping, vibrating with joy or talking about my news. So I told all of my friends in my class…

I would not only like to, but be considered for membership within the NEHS, NMHS, and SMHS because it would make my parents and family proud. I also want to be a good role model for my sisters, who are just now entering their journey in their education. Especially for my younger sister, who is in 6th grade and in 2 years will enter high school. It would be an honor to be a member of the Honor Societies to make my parents proud and be an example/role model to my sisters. My parents made many sacrifices to get me and my sisters a better education then they did. I come from Mexico and my parents didn't have the same opportunities for education like I have right now and I have to thank them because they left their families to come to an unknown place with an unknown language just so I could study and have a better life then they did.…

Your hand is full of coins that are worth different values, but you only choose those with higher worth. You throw the rest on the floor or put them aside for someone else to find. Little did you know that with time those coins you left for someone else to have, made them worth more than what they used to be. My life was like a penny, not worth much to others but with help of others the bronze coin became much more than the silver coins.…

As a high school senior I sat in my room trying to decide my future in a day among dozens of college pamphlets. Somewhere at the bottom of all of those brochures was one for Motlow State Community College. Not only was it at the bottom of my pile, but it was completely outside of my radar at the time. Now, so many months later, I am sitting in a room on the Motlow campus typing this. I never once imagined myself here. Nevertheless, attending this school and joining the honors program was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Going on outings with other members of the honors program allowed me to get to know my peers, and in turn allowed me to become more confident in both my verbal and social skills. This will impact my future tremendously…

"That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong." F. Scott Fitzgerald. I suppose that's why people love literature so much, it gives you the chance to explore realms of mind, body and spirit and observe life in an entirely different way. Modern Literature has always been of utmost interest to me alongside certain appreciations for the texts written within the Elizabethan period. I admire the way that modern issues are portrayed through characters, allowing me to observe human nature, in a new analytical light. Ultimately my goal in life is to become an English teacher so that I can pass on knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject.…
