Personal Reflective Analysis: Morehouse College Quartet
There are often times where I as the baritone of the Morehouse College Quartet have to conduct my own personal reflective analysis of performances. During these personal reflective analysis' I have intrinsically accept my mistakes and create a plan of action to correct the mistakes to move forward to be a better member of the team. For example, when we performed at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marietta, GA; there was a moment during our set where I completely forgot the lyrics; which in turn left my part unsung, furthermore not ensuring that the group upheld the legacy of excellence. In that moment I knew that the other members of the quartet would be upset, which they had every right to be, however I knew that I could not dwell on the mistake.

    Once the time came to decide on who would conduct the finale, the choice was clear. The director saw my potential and inclination to achieve greatness during our rehearsals and chose me over many other talented individuals. Over the course of the next two months, I alone spearheaded every rehearsal, often spending hours a day in the band room providing both artistic and technical instruction to an ensemble of roughly 140 members.     I went into the most influential audition of my vocal career completely blind. Third block on a dreary spring afternoon, the promise of Friday dangling in the air, the room frigid as I contemplated something that would change the course of my life as revealed in hindsight.
