This goal has been a dream of mine ever since I was a child I loved to write stories and let my imagination take off. This relates to my personal purpose statement my achieving inner peace by completing a career dream I have had since I was a child. Reading books alone as a child inspired me. Nothing in the assessment related to writing or becoming an author. One obstacle in my way is writers block. I can always go experience the world around me that always has a new surprise for a college student. I can also read the work of others to be inspired by their work. The world is full of writers of all kinds: novelists, biographers, copy writers, and even bloggers. Every so often, one of those writers will rise above the rest and become a great author—but what exactly does that take? Many qualities have to come together in one person to make his or her writing great, so having the idea for a story alone is not enough; great writers also have to possess talent and originality as well as the dedication required to see a story through to the end.…

The quote “ If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” by Frederick Douglass clearly sums up my experience as a writer. Writing has always been a challenge for me primarily due to a lack of practice and confidence. Whenever I am assigned a writing task, academic or creative, such a journal entry, reflection paper, essay, or research paper, my immediate reaction is instinctively negative and fearful. In addition, I never took the subject seriously in my years of studies because I never deemed writing to be crucial and necessary unless I wanted to become a professional writer.…

I am writing this quick letter to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my accomplishments and aspirations as a writer. I won't say that writing is in my blood or my genes or anything like that, but I will say that I do have an insatiable urge to write. I cannot say, but I definitely feel that writing is a passion of mine that I greatly enjoy. It is an urge that can only be satisfied and, even then, only temporarily, by stringing words together into a narrative. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy writing, although I do not consider myself to be stellar at it; I would call it a passion more than anything else.…

Writing has been a passion of mine since childhood. During elementary I wrote complex stories of whimsical adventures in my notebooks. Pages upon pages would be filled with fairies, castles, and daring rescues. My passion for writing continued into middle school. My friends and I would create stories together about band members or celebrities we were obsessed with. A website allowed us to use our new-found technological skills to write stories about characters and then share them with other people who enjoy the same characters. Middle school transitioned to high school, and my writing skills seemed to be lacking.…

My writing process has always been a frustrating one. I like writing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. When I was younger, I loved letting my creative side shine by writing silly stories and pretending I was Stephen King, using words that I didn't even understand. My dad read me Shel Silverstein's books of poems and and drawings. Those books inspired me so much to write and to draw and be creative on a blank sheet of paper.…
