Personal Narrative: The Last Football Potato Bowl Game
On October 2nd, 2015, Wasilla High School and Palmer High School have a football Potato Bowl game. This is the last football game of the year and its the rivalry game. Anyways that day I was with a couple of my friends and streaking got brought into conversation. And one of them suggested I did it at the potato bowl, and I agreed. So I called a couple of people and asked if they wanted to do it. One Palmer boy and one Colony boy said that they would do it with me, so I went to the store and bought red, blue, and green and white paint. The plan was to paint all of our bodies our school colors, with a white W, P and C on the all of our chests. As the night got later and time got closer to doing it, both of the boys chickened out. Everyone after that started saying I wasn't gonna do it, and doubting me. Im the type of person who doesn't like getting told to do, and when kids are telling me Im not gonna do something, I have to. Im a daredevil. So you can probably guess what I did that night. At half-time of the …show more content…
As I was on my way to the court house I couldn't help but think of the dumb decision I made. I knew the credit I got from my friends wouldn't be worth the consequences but only realized this after the fact. I was only in the court house for about an hour but it felt like four. I was consumed with the feeling of stupidity. I wanted nothing more then to make up my community service hours and forget about the decision I made. I wasn't too disappointed when I was served 15 hours of community service. I understood at this point that what I had done wasn't okay and I deserved community service. I chose to make my time up at the boys and girls club. I did this because I know the time I spent there would be appreciated by the staff and children. After making my time up I still had a feeling of guilt because I know I can never take back what I did, but I had a sense of relief and felt like a better person at the end of the

Quite possibly the most significant time of my life was during my senior year as part of the Edison High School football team. The story of our 2006 season is a reflection of my life and testimony to my beliefs and values. Underdogs from day one, we represented not only our school, but also our community and families. Early expectations of the 2006 Eagles were low and the surrounding community was under the belief that Edison would be lucky to go 6-4 with the inexperienced players and the loss of such a talented senior class. Suddenly, I was starting as the outside linebacker/defensive end for the first time in my career along with 18 brand new starters. Unexpectedly, a green group of replacements were 5-0, half-way through our season. After…

“LET’S GO BOYS!!!! LET’S WIN THIS!!! BEAT THESE RAVENS!!!!!!” The crowd was screaming and chanting wildly as we began to run out of the locker rooms and onto the large football field. I lead them, raising my arms up and down to signal the crowd to get louder with their cheers. As I did this, I was also sprinting to the middle of the field through the large slit that was cut for my eyes. I turned back to the crowd in the stands, and the players ran around me, with smiles of their faces, to get to their positions and the bench. I started to jump and raise my arms, “ FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!!” They all chanted my name in union, some of them even had signs and horns! A large smile crept onto my face behind my large mascot mask, and I couldn’t…

It was a crisp cold fall day at Lambeau field. I could see everything that was happening the whole entire time. The field was as green as a tree in the middle of Summer. The cold wind was whistling in my ear. The smell the hot dogs, burgers, and turf from the field filled my nose as the game begin. All I could hear were people cheering on the Packers and the jumbotron blaring, “Go pack go!” I could see the running back Eddie Lacy drive the ball into the end zone and everyone went wild. A mix people cheering and screaming filled my ears. After the opposing team returned the ball everyone started cheering, “Defense, defense, defense!” The watched the ball get intercepted and run down the field for another touchdown! The crowd roared and I got…

When I stood at the bottom I did not think I could make it. half way up, I knew that I could not make it. Now, standing at the top, I look behind me at the amazing challenge that I have just conquered. Not only is the hill at Eau Claire an infamous feat that every student must traverse, but it is also a metaphor for every hardship that has entered into my life. One hardship I have faced, was my sports injuries during high school. My junior year track season started off being the best experience i’ve had. Unfortunately, this time was cut short. I ripped a ligament in my leg ending my entire spring season. I was angry at the world asking, “why me”. However, I knew I still had a team depending on me. Day in, and day out, I would show up to practice…

Eighth grade year, gym class, flag football. I remember this day like it was yesterday. I had a fuming hatred for the gym teachers and their actions toward these pre-pubescent kids who take everything a little too personally, but with these rude teachers each and every reaction from each and every kid was appropriate. The only way I could describe these teachers is 40 year olds who find joy in making 13 year olds miserable. So, it all began when the flag football unit started. I wasn’t afraid of the evil humans we called gym teachers; I spoke my mind. Football was usually the last unit every year and every year the girls had to relearn how to play football, while the boys got to go play outside right away without an ounce of review. Because I am me, this wasn’t going to fly.…

As the day started with the sound of cars passing by with the engine roaring, I knew it was time to go. I awoke from a dream that a 17-year would have about sports, specifically a 17-year old with the championship game, that happened to be on that day as well. I had the utmost confidence that my teammates and I will be able to deliver something that couldn’t be done by the last “dream team.” Those players had the utmost belief in each other and seemed that they knew where each person would go. It seemed they had a psychological connection, which I presume came from the relationship they had off the court. I would see them roaming the hallways with a smile that would give anyone belief that they can achieve those miracles. As time passed they grew older, flew towards a new goal. One became an assistant coach at UC Berkeley, one is fighting to become one of the starters and prove his worth at Washington State, and others stayed at community College still hoping there dream of playing college basketball becomes a reality. Now, after those long practices where you had players saying…

The next morning, I woke up with a hangover and left to school. During my first class I got a headache. I had never thought about the consequences at the moment. All I wanted to do is take a nap at the nurse’s office. When I arrived to see the nurse she asked what’s wrong. I told her I had a headache. She could smell alcohol on my breath. She knew that I was intoxicated. I confess that I had drunk beer the day before. She called security to escort me to the principal’s office. When I got outside to the principal’s office she asked me to go inside her office. She handed me a paper letting me know I was suspended from school for a week. I was ordered to leave and walked back to my house.…

Once upon a time, there was a rebellious girl, who always got drunk and did drugs. One night at a party, the police came and caught her doing illegal drugs. Her sentence was community service, and she did not know what to expect. After the first day of community service, she discovered that she actually enjoyed it. Community service changed her life because she got to see and help people who used to be just like her, who did drugs and got drunk all the time. She saw how her life could have been. Then, she changed her ways and she wasn’t a rebel anymore. Clearly, community service should be a law where students have to do a certain amount of it before graduating or moving up a grade.…
