Personal Narrative: Arkansas Football In America
Over Thanksgiving break I did all my favorite things. I played basketball for the first two days for 2 hours, Then I went to Arkansas where I got to go to another Arkansas football game that lasted 5 hours and was a back and forth game so it kept me standing, and on the way home I watched my favorite TV show criminal minds. A lot of people have different favorite things, but some of my favorites are, playing sports, watching Arkansas football, and watching a good TV show. First of all, playing sports is one of my favorite things to do. They teach me discipline and I must do and Not do what coach says. Sports also teach me good sportsmanship. I learn to love the game by playing my opponent/friends and showing how to take a win or loss. Last year playing basketball we didn’t lose but one game, I was devastated. I like to think I took the Loss ok but I just blamed it all on myself. I got to show my winning spirts in a ton of games that season, and I think I showed my happiness well. Our team didn’t brag or show off we simply just played our game, and the results turned out as they may. …show more content…
Even though Most of the time I just get to watch it on TV. On Saturdays at home I wake up in the Moring in my Aransas pajamas ready for the game to hurry up and come on. You don’t just watch Arkansas football when your me, when your me, you are the coach, player, water girl, fan, and announcer. I get very into the games even if I’m at home or at the game in person. I tell myself what needs to happen, who needs to run where, and scream if they don’t do it right. Arkansas football isn’t just a sport, it’s an environment. There is nothing better than going to any game and calling for the best team. I love calling the hogs with everyone around me at an Arkansas game. Knowing that others are cheering for the same thing as me makes me feel close and together, tightly

Some Sumer activities that I like to do or achieve for the school break are having fun with my friends and family and play. On really hot days we go down to the lake and play in the water or go fishing. I also like to play with my dog and go for walks with her if I'm not dragging her all the way there and back. Sometimes I do work with my dad most of the times it involves a lot of elbow grease. I love to do fun activities with my mom that does relate a little work, at the end she gets us a treat. On the days I'm not doing anything I go out with friends or they come to my house, and if I'm good we go to get air, other wise, we just watch movies and relax. On other days when we are in the garden I like to swim, maybe even play with the sprinklers and bother my brothers.…

Good Evening Mr. Forrest, this is Sean Anderson. I wanted to send this report involving the girl's basketball coach from Northeast Middle School. Me and Jason Collins were the officials at West Creek Middle School vs Northeast Middle School. The games started at 4:45. During the second game, which was the girl's basketball game, my partner Jason Collins made a ruling against Northeast in the 4th quarter. The girl's head coach did not like the ruling and venting her frustrations toward us. She screamed" her player was not there for the foul". While I was administering the free throws I heard her screaming and gave her the stop sign signal and told her ok that's enough. I didn't administer no technical foul even though she continue…

“Alright listen, we may not have won and we may not have been the best team out there today, but I’ll be damned if we didn’t play our hearts out every last minute of that game,” our captain said. “That’s all Day would have asked for and I say we did that pretty damn well.”…

I play quarter back for Pensacola Catholic High. To me football is one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you can get. The game is fast and I like that. When I play football I feel unstoppable and I love it. When you play quarterback the game is in your hands and it is up to you to lead your team to victory. You have to make sure your team is focused and prepared. You have to be a good leader to play quarterback. If your team starts loosing you can’t just act sad and give up. You have to do the right thing and give your team a pep talk and tell them to step up their game like a good leader would do.…

When spring break technically started which was Monday I sat at home and enjoyed the company of my family. We played board games and planned trips that we were planning on taking in the summer. Surprisingly, we decided on a cruise courtesy of Carnival Cruise line or should I say my aunt because she works there. With a cruise approaching as well as major school events, only one thing was in my mind and that was shopping! We literally shopped till we dropped over spring break and probably shopped a little more than we should have. Shopping from Tuesday to through Sunday can actually be exhausting, especially when you have a huge family like mine.…

Just from sports you can learn life lessons for just that watching or even playing. Even though competitive sports is about participation it is all about how hard you work and how hard you try. If your team gets last in a tournament, that does not matter…

After a long, weary day of work on a Sunday, I always look forward to entering the sports room of the house. Upon leaving work, I rush to my comfortable home. Due to the air conditioner being on all the time , I open the door and feel a cool breeze. I get under the warm , cozy covers and look at the patterns of navy blue and white colors on the wall reminding me of the ocean tides at sunset. Since I like the temperature in the sports room being on a low setting, I also like to drink a cold, refreshing soda. When I turn on my seventy-inch flat screen television, I always change the channel to Sunday Night Football. Watching the Dallas Cowboys is a priority for me on Sunday nights. The thrill of my favorite National American Football team scoring…

On October 2nd, 2015, Wasilla High School and Palmer High School have a football Potato Bowl game. This is the last football game of the year and its the rivalry game. Anyways that day I was with a couple of my friends and streaking got brought into conversation. And one of them suggested I did it at the potato bowl, and I agreed. So I called a couple of people and asked if they wanted to do it. One Palmer boy and one Colony boy said that they would do it with me, so I went to the store and bought red, blue, and green and white paint. The plan was to paint all of our bodies our school colors, with a white W, P and C on the all of our chests. As the night got later and time got closer to doing it, both of the boys chickened out. Everyone after that started saying I wasn't gonna do it, and doubting me. Im the type of person who doesn't like getting told to do, and when kids are telling me Im not gonna do something, I have to. Im a daredevil. So you can probably guess what I did that night.…

When I stood at the bottom I did not think I could make it. half way up, I knew that I could not make it. Now, standing at the top, I look behind me at the amazing challenge that I have just conquered. Not only is the hill at Eau Claire an infamous feat that every student must traverse, but it is also a metaphor for every hardship that has entered into my life. One hardship I have faced, was my sports injuries during high school. My junior year track season started off being the best experience i’ve had. Unfortunately, this time was cut short. I ripped a ligament in my leg ending my entire spring season. I was angry at the world asking, “why me”. However, I knew I still had a team depending on me. Day in, and day out, I would show up to practice…

Growing up, I was never naturally athletic and very injury prone. Regardless of these issues, I always remained determined and strived to accomplish my goals. As I enter high school one of my main goals was to make the varsity tennis team. During my freshmen year I practiced every day for the first 3 months of school hoping that I could just make the team. Unfortunately I tore a ligament in my wrist for the second time which prevented me from practicing till right before the tennis season started. I ended barely making the JV team which was very disappointing, but it only motivated me for next year. In my heart I knew that I if I was determined enough I could play varsity next year on my own merit. As I progressed through the sophomore year,…

As the day started with the sound of cars passing by with the engine roaring, I knew it was time to go. I awoke from a dream that a 17-year would have about sports, specifically a 17-year old with the championship game, that happened to be on that day as well. I had the utmost confidence that my teammates and I will be able to deliver something that couldn’t be done by the last “dream team.” Those players had the utmost belief in each other and seemed that they knew where each person would go. It seemed they had a psychological connection, which I presume came from the relationship they had off the court. I would see them roaming the hallways with a smile that would give anyone belief that they can achieve those miracles. As time passed they grew older, flew towards a new goal. One became an assistant coach at UC Berkeley, one is fighting to become one of the starters and prove his worth at Washington State, and others stayed at community College still hoping there dream of playing college basketball becomes a reality. Now, after those long practices where you had players saying…

My Thanksgiving break was pretty good. On Thanksgiving, I went to Indiana to my cousins' house. It was a two-hour drive, so it wasn't that long. All of my cousins are older than me- literally, all of my cousins even from I don't know where. The only people younger than me are my siblings so I'm not the youngest of ALL the people. Anyways, we had eaten all of the thanksgiving things you can possibly eat. I loved thanksgiving this year and I can't wait next year.…

As a cheerleader, I took part in a high energy and enthusiasm activity, yet I craved more. “More” just so happened to be flag football. The summer before I entered the first grade I asked my parents if I could make the transition. My request was met with emotions including concern, intrigue, but most of all, support. My parents were not going to dissuade me from participating in any hobby, especially one I seemed so interested in pursuing. I showed up to the first practice with my curly, blonde hair pulled back in a tight ponytail. I was enthusiastic to learn and participate in the sport over which my whole family went ballistic each Sunday night in the dead of winter. Upon my much awaited arrival, the coach's wife asked what number I wanted to have on the back of my extra-small jersey. I thought ‘one’ was the…

Gazing across the lush field I lay my eyes on an enthusiastic crowd. Emotional chants rise from their voices but are immediately silenced from my hearing as the referee whistles the ball into play. I bend down to get into my stance, one hand down with my middle fingers balancing me into a running back stance. I feel the sweat dripping down my face and into my eyes causing a sizzling pain that brings my head back into the game. I knew it was only a matter of time, despite that it was only halfway through the third quarter. I had to make the most of the time I had left.…
