In my eighteen years of living I have discovered that most of the time I can be a pretty pessimistic, negative, emotionless person. It not the best personality to have, but I make it work. Now being a negative person, I am used to negative thoughts and comments. I usually just take in the comments and do not really think about them, sometimes I even embrace. However, this event has helped me to be more open to positive comments. I am not a confident person and always deem myself average. So when people compliment me, I just take it as, “Oh. I guess I’m doing pretty good for an average person.” Then I came to the Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University soccer team. They constantly encourage me and it has been a positive influence in my life. My goalie mentors always give me advice and encourage me during practice. My other teammates also cheer me on. I was playing a soccer game and my team was down by one during half time. Then, during the second half the other team scored again. My team was losing two to zero and the end of the game was drawing closer. Our forward scored, but we still needed one more in order to tie the game and go to penalty kicks. In the final minutes our forward scored again and tied the game. We went into penalty kicks and won. So after a long and hard game, in which perseverance paid off, we finally won. It was one of the happiest moments in my life. I learned that no matter what the score is during a game, you can always make a comeback. So no matter what score is on the scoreboard I always maintain hope in my
