Personal Narrative: My Visit To DCCC
I am attending DCCC because it is the college that my school offers for free. I had visited DCCC my freshman year and liked the campus and I also know a few students there so if I ever needed help with something they could hopefully help me out. The DCCC campus is easy to navigate through and they also do a ton of fun events. I have goals that are being met by attending DCCC and hopefully in two or three years I will finally get my associate degree and finish school as an EMT or a paramedic. DCCC courses I have taken so far have helped me become a better learner, thinker and not only help me with my life choices in college but also in regular everyday life. I am still changing and finding new study habits and trying to find what methods of

It was just a boring day in my hometown, a traditional, weak entrance a lot of narrative stories use to try to get the attention of the readers. This story, however, isn’t one of those traditional stories; this one involves a day that had been exciting up to that point already. The memory that resonates daily throughout my mind would have to be the time when I went to Six Flags for the first time in my life. Before I jump into my story, I should tell you my friends mess with each other a lot, almost to the point where we get into fights with each other.…

I walked into the doors of Statehouse Expo Center, my feet walking with the sound of my bag rolling over the little cracks on the light floor tile, my white uniform as crisp as a fall breeze. With every step further, I could see more people. Lots more people. The mats filled with people. People who spend their whole lives working to be where they are, on those mats. Sparring, combat, weapons and forms. XMA in one corner, Black Belts in another corner, everyone else in a corner and staging in a corner. All surrounded by a Sr. Master or the occasional Master. When we get to a tournament, our team always meets up. Then all the kids go explore. We found our team and all the kids put away their IPads and Kindle Fires.…

Being able to go to Baltimore with RCC would mean a lot to me. This is my last semester before I graduate and then I will be in school to be a paramedic; so this will be my last opportunity to have one of these once in a lifetime experiences with my classmates. I have made several life long friendships while going on these trips and have been able to see more of the United States then I probably ever would have. From listening to Mr. Martin I have learned how to appreciate art and now I go into a museum and am excited instead of bored. I have been able to stand in places that history was made and see just how much we are not taught but how readily available it is to us if we just look. I have learned invaluable life lessons while on these…

If I had harnessed the ability to travel through time, I would choose to experience 1960’s Washington D.C.. The city was struck with such large amounts of heartbreak, but at the same time, many people had more courage than they’ve ever had. I would spend the first couple of hours exploring the riots on the roads, the segregation present in the shops, and just how people felt in this time.…

I remember the day vividly: the sizzling of food frying, children yelling, my tears running, it was the first time I adventured to Six Flags. The uneasiness of my stomach while swaying tens of feet from the ground on the Texas Giant petrified the adventurous spirit out of me. However, I did not realize that moment `would shape the next eight years of life, emerging in my memory at every unfamiliar experience I faced. It was my senior year when I declined an invitation to go camping with my friends an epiphany struck me. How many of these opportunities was I going to skip out on due to my reluctant manner?…

On our trip to Cedar Glen, I learned numerous things that will benefit me in the future and assist me in making crucial decisions. One of the things I learned is group dynamics and working with other people. My group participated in various activities, such as logs and marshmallows, which taught us that we shouldn’t just focus on ourselves when completing a task, but also everybody in our group. In both logs and marshmallows, our group made sure each person reached the other side instead of just themselves, which the reason why we accomplished the activity is that we worked together as a team. I also learned that in a group, there could be people who lead a task, maintain a group, or focus on themselves. In low ropes and high ropes, we learned…

I was a tall skyscraper that was known to the world as World Peace Through Trade. In 1946, the New York Legislature came up with a group called The World Trade Corporation and they developed The World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. In 1958, the World Trade Center Corporations hired three guys named Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill to come up with a design for me. A year later the designs were released to the public. By the time they actually started constructing me it was August of 1968. It only took a few years for them to build me and it was December 23, 1970 when I was finally done being built. I was 1,368 feet tall, making me the world’s tallest building at the time. So many people worked their that the i had my own zip code Many companies came in and used me for space to have offices. Some businesses moved in even before I was done being built to claim their spots. Many workers would bring their children and leave them in the daycare that i had. Not only was I an office building but I had a restaurant on the 107th floor. It was called The Windows of the World. Along with a restaurant I also had a subway that had a stop underground for all the people who either worked in my tower or nearby. There were so many activities you could do besides just working. I had an observation deck for tourists to come and see the…
