Personal Narrative: My Life In Soccer
My Life In Soccer

It all started when I was at school and I was bored(I was like 5).And I saw a little group of kids playing soccer and I thought I might as well go join in with them so I went and I loved it.Then I went home and told my mom ‘I want to play soccer’.So she went and signed me up at AYSO.

When I went to my first practice i was really nervous.Because I knew I wasn’t very good because I 1st started. When I was there it was really fun like I really enjoyed it.But as I played it more got better it got kind of boring because are team was decently good.So then next year I told my mom I wanted to move up a youth. So instead of going to the U8 I went to U10.

When I went to first practice I was horrible compared to most of them. But while I played more and more it got way more fun.I stay in U10 for like 4 years because I was only 7. During those 4 years I practice really hard for U12 i mean like as soon as I got out of school I was outside most of the time practicing.

When I was ten years old I tried out for my local travel soccer team. I did not expect to make it, but by some stroke of luck I did. I started playing and it was not what I was expecting. In the past I averaged a hat trick every game, but travel soccer was a lot different. I started playing defense, but that might be an overstatement, because I did not get a whole lot of minutes. I knew that if I wanted to play more I was going to have to put in more work outside of practice. I started practicing everyday switching from running, to foot skills, to agility training. I probably spent more time complaining about it and there were a few time that my parents had to push me to practice, but I knew that I had to put in the work.…

In 5th grade I was on the best team in the OFA. The coaches were nice and mean but I didn't care. The hard practices did make me better I slammed a 6th grader bigger than me. At football practice the coaches made us run pole to pole which means we all run like 400 yards. At every football practice I got hurt in some way. We won every game the last game aka the championship game it was 6 to 7.…

I always excelled in sports and I have always seemed to learn new things quite fast. Lacrosse was different. The day my friend Riley Carr had came down to my house and asked if I wanted to join the Canton Lacrosse Michigan youth team was life changing. I agreed to play but only because it was both of our first times playing and I didn’t want to be embarrassed alone. As you can probably guess, My first few years playing were not very good and I was still unskilled in the game. As soon as 7th grade came around, My Canton team was unstoppable! We were beating the top 10 teams in the state by HUGE numbers! It wasn’t even fair for the other teams. We were winning every tournament and championship we attended, and I was having my breakout season. This journey lasted all the was through middle school and to the day our middle school careers were over, and we were separated to different schools. It was a sad day knowing I would never get to play with these kids again who over the years, I had made very strong bonds with. I would not change a thing about my decision to play lacrosse.…
