It all begins back in 1776 when I was a young 15 year old girl named Aria. Me and my family live in the amazing palace in SpringDale which is a one day's ride to Genovia. My dream was to find true love, but my father did not share that same dream for with me. Jacob is the soon to be King of Genovia, but first he must have a bride. When I found out I was going to be competing for Jacob's hand in marriage I promised Doulton that it would not be me in the end and I would make sure of that. Now not only am I being forced to marry this dreadful man but I broke my promise to the man that I love. Everyone at the ball thought I was crying out of pure happiness but I was not. The next day I had to sneak out of the palace to go find Doulton and break the news to him which I had no idea how I was going to do that. I finally find him at his creek, I take a deep breath and let all spill out. Before I could finish telling him everything Doulton asked me, “Run away with me. We can go far from here and start a life together like we have been talking about.” For a split second I really thought about it but I told him no and I would figure something out. Back at the palace the whole place was crawling with news anchors and reporters trying to find any kind of information on my family that they would . Some were good reports wanted to spread the happiness of two families together and their are some that want to find any kind of dirt on us to stop the marriage from

I come from a very dysfunctional family; I am the older of the two children that were produced by my parents. I have a younger sister named Nicole Marie Stover. We are the result of my father’s third marriage, the only offspring he is aware of. He has been married seven times to date, the latest one has been the longest lasting, their twentieth anniversary was a few days ago. He made it quite clear when he came in one morning with Carol, my now step-mother of twenty years, that he was going to make this one work no matter what it took. Well this included striking me out of the picture as I was a troubled young lad. But let’s go back to the beginning of my life, the beginning of this story. I was born Sunday November 09 of the year 1980 to George Adam Stover, III and Dawn Marie Stover (Adams) in the wonderful town of Baltimore that’s located in the state of Maryland at Saint Josephs Hospital. My father was a feature photographer for WMAR Channel 2, where I spent a good portion of my time at playing on the editing room floor and…

How does being the king feel? It must feel like a relief because you had to kill your brother to get in this position. Did you kill your brother out of hatred or did you still care for him because I am very eager to know. I bet being the king is a hard task, I have not been one myself because I am simply a woman, but it seems hard enough just to help one person with their problem, but with millions of people, that must be the toughest task in the world! I admire that you were cared for by a she-wolf when you grew up. Do you remember any of it? I bet it was hard, knowing that no one except for a she-wolf would care for you, until Faustulus, the shepherd came along. Did you admire the she wolf? If I were you I would of ran…

Hey. The name’s Cinderella. Where I want to start my story is when my Dad married this phony after Mom died. Now I’ve got two crumby step-sisters, who aren’t exactly on the pretty side, and they make me work in the goddamn kitchen. I mean for chrissake, they make me work in my own goddamn kitchen. So anyway, this guy came over and invited them to some dance. I guess he was some sort of prince or something. Well I didn’t feel like being lousy and depressed all night so I went to the dance to. It was full of jerks. I mean these guys were real snobs. This one guy was practically on top of me for God’s sake. It was that phony the Prince. So I danced with the guy, I’m not sure why, him being such a snob and all. Then it was midnight and I didn’t much feel like sticking around. On my way out my goddamn shoe fell off. I mean that’s the last thing I need right now for chrissake. Anyway the Prince came over and picked it up. I guess he was some kind of perv or something. I didn’t want to talk to him or anything, so I got out of there like a bat out of hell. The next day the perv comes to my goddamn house with my goddam shoe. He tries to put it on those dopes, my sisters. It doesn’t fit. Of course it doesn’t fit for chrissake. I mean look at those feet. They look like some sort of clown feet or something. Any idiot can tell it doesn’t fit. This Prince guy isn’t too bright. Anyway, he comes over to me a puts it on, that’s when he asked to marry me. I turned him down. I didn’t want to be rude or anything, but he was such a goddam phony. They’re all goddam phonies, the Prince, my sisters, my step-mom, all of them. I think I really kind of hate this place.…

It was only this morning when mother came in and asked me the most random question ever. She asked me if I've ever thought about marriage but to be honest, I have never in my life even thought about it since I'm only thirteen. Thirteen may sound like a very young age however, it’s rather normal for someone my age to get married and even have children. Mother asked me that question simply because the ‘valiant’ Count Paris has taken interest in me. I'm not sure if I should feel happy or not but I promised my mother that I would attend the masquerade our family have organised later today to interact with Paris even though I didn’t really want to because I just can’t disobey the people who I most respect, my mother and father.…

It was one of the best nights in a long time. There I was looking at the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on. I was truly the luckiest guy in all of the earth. Pearl was not only the sweetest woman I had ever met, but, also the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Sure we had our ups and downs but in the end we loved each other and that was all that mattered. There was nothing standing in the way of us. Well, maybe one thing… or should I say person… Fortunato. You see, Fortunato was a rich man, richer than I’d ever be. His family pretty much owned the town and everything in it. He would always confront my girlfriend telling her about how happy he could make her and the wonderful life they could have together. I knew that this was true. Whenever I would ask pearl about him she would tell me not to worry and explained how she would never love him. These words would relieve me for short periods until the next time I heard of him addressing her. Fortunato was also a very persistent man and was not used to being told no to having things he wanted. Once he caused a ruckus so big I thought a war might break out. I feared that his endurance and his liking for my mistress would not benefit me at all and for this I was worried.…

There are two instances in my life that has inspired me to gain interest in medicine. My grandmother when I was around the age of twelve received double bypass surgery and I fell in love with the physician who took care of her. The physician was a middle aged woman who was one of the kindest person I have ever met, and she gave us the news of how everything went fine during surgery. She also gave us great confidence in how my grandmother would return to normal soon. The look on my parents and aunts face when she gave the news gave me goosebumps and to this day I feel the same goosebumps when I think about this. I just wanted to one day be in a position to deliver good news to a family and to see that “look” of relief on their faces. Another…

The misty September air froze against my skin; at least, it felt like it did. As we walked along the river, I debated the effectiveness of a faking an injury. Perhaps, then we would finally take a break. Although, It is far more likely we would continue to shuffle on, herded by orange traffic cones and dreary-eyed volunteers. Even now, years later, I still marvel at the fact the race starts at 8:00 AM. Whoever supplied the idea must not have recognized the pain it would cause my nine year-old self. Nevertheless, as we marched through downtown Portland, I felt a distinct similarity to the toy soldiers my brother had been so fond of. While we were disorganized and reckless, we walked quietly, with a common urgency. The comparison could also…

While medical care was available growing up, there were financial or situational periods where it was not necessarily accessible. I am from a single parent family. My mother moved in with my grandparents after her divorce and works two full time jobs to help provide for my brother, grandparents, and I. Since my father went to jail and my grandfather passed, we have had to make many adjustments financially. This was the case due to my father not providing payments for child support for the time he was incarcerated nor occasional months prior. There has also been a complication with my mother and I having our identity stolen, which has created additional problems when applying for governmental aid throughout my undergraduate years. I worked…

Genes are the basic physical and functional units of heredity. Genes are specific sequences of bases that encode instructions on how to make proteins, and even though genes are what people normally pay attention to, it’s the proteins that perform most life functions and make up the majority of cellular structures. When genes are altered so that the encoded proteins are unable to carry out their normal functions, genetic disorders occur. Gene therapy is a technique for correcting those defective genes responsible for the disorders. Gene therapy can be done through many ways: a normal gene may be inserted into a nonspecific location within the genome to replace a nonfunctional gene, an abnormal gene could be swapped…

She had always told me she left him out of love. He always told me he had left her out of guilt. Being young and naive, I didn't understand that. I had thought love was when a boy and a girl got married because they liked each other a lot. And, my mother and father had gotten married once. While they were married, they had me. I don't remember very much from my childhood but I can expect it was fine. I always asked to hear the stories, because I loved hearing them. My aunt Jemma was always so eager to fill my ears with the pleasing tales. "You were the perfect family," she used to say. "Young and new and happy," she would say. But it didn't stay like that for long. I now realize that it was my father's actions that caught up with him, and my mother's realisations that caught up with her. Whether they split out of love or out of guilt, I might never know. All I know is that I continued living with my mom, and I thought nothing could have been better.…

Now, a few days ago i heard farhter talk to Ole Timau. They discussed a few different things, but at last Ole Timau mentioned that he had interrest in marrying me! When I heard it, my world froze still, and slowly I saw it fall apart. Piece by piece it grumbled, and I was terryfied. I am not going to marry anyone before i'm a lot older, and i've finished school. Especially not an old bearded man with a big gut. What ever it will take, what ever I have to do, I will not allow this to happened. If it means rebelling against farthers will, I will do it. If it means running away, I will do it. If it means brining shame upon our family, I will do it. Although I hope there is a better and more substaniable solution. After all i'm only 12 years of age. I would hope to be able to finish primary school. It would create so much opportunity for my future. Tumuka, please convince dad that me marrying Ole Timau is a bad idea. Please tell him that it would be foolish not to allow me to finish school. And since he dosen't listens to me, try to tell him, that if he wants any kind of relationship with any of his children, hopefully you included, he does not sell me to some old creep. And if all else fails, I hope you, as my older brother, could take care of me. You could work here, in your old village, and I could live with you. That way I could finish school and not be forced to marry Ole Timau. I know this may be hard, but when I get older, and I've finished primary school and maybe even a higher form of education, I'll also be able to make money. And who knows, maybe some day in the future we…
