Personal Narrative Essay: Joining The Ophelia Project
Joining the Ophelia project was the most nerve wracking yet excellent choice i've ever done in my life. I walk in the classroom nervously not knowing what's gonna happen next. Numerous of girls chatting and meeting new people. I see the counselors looking at me with a smile. Thinking to myself, was it a good idea to come here? Was this a mistake? All these questions rushing through my head. I made the choice to join the Ophelia Project for a better future.
One day , near the end of the school year, I received an envelope during homeroom. I opened it and read, “ You are invited to come join us in the a meeting for the Ophelia Project. Come during lunch in the choir room. I was confused as what was the Ophelia Project for or was. Afterwards

We've seen numerous of girls and the counselors all just talking to each other. All that at that point in my head I was asking myself, “What have I gotten myself into?”. Questions rushing through my head. The counselor greeted me and told me, “Hello, welcome you are welcome to grab a slice of pizza and anything you like and please take your seats afterwards.” After we grabbed our food Ariana and I took our seats. After a while they told us to quiet down. Jason told us everything about the Ophelia project and what was it about and how it could help us in our future. After they told us what it was about we played a little activity where we got to meet new people. I was nervous to talk to other people. Just the idea of it I wanted to zoom out of the classroom. After that activity one of the mentors was handing out packets for our parents to fill out if we'd liked to join.
The next year, 8th grade, I talked to Mrs. Vasquez and asked about it. I turned in my packet and was just thinking about it the rest of the day. One day Ariana and I during lunch went to her office and asked when was the next meeting. She told us that we will be receiving an invitation soon and telling us the information we need to know for our first meeting. I finally received the invitation and I was
