As I am looking at my son, I’m thinking about my five-year goals. In five years, my son will be five years old and he’s going to be ready for kindergarten. I would like to work in a Head Start or similar daycare program. Right now, I am in school studying again and, if I had set a goal and really done what I wanted, I could have already graduated by now. I didn’t goals were important, but setting goals helps me stay motivated and focused. One of my biggest goals is to earn my associate’s degree and attend Wilmington University to work towards my bachelor’s degree. By working hard to earn good grades, learning more about the field to become an excellent preschool teacher,

My father influenced me to change my major to Nursing, because the job pays better. I struggled with my classes, because science and medicine were not my interests. I did not receive an associate’s degree, but some of my classes from Wor-Wic have transferred to Del Tech. This is my first year at Del Tech. My goal is to earn good grades, finish the program, and study for the state exams. I’m going to the Writing Center for help with my paper and homework questions, and I used the Tutoring Center for extra help with my academic work; I’m also taking advantage of advisement and professional advice. I scheduled to meet with an adviser to discuss my career plans. myself, “This is what I like.” Since I started as a teacher assistant I have worked with a lot of young children; I enjoy working with young children age 3 to 5. In 2013, I was hired as an assistant teacher in a Maryland Head Start program called Shore Up Inc. I began to learn more about early childhood education and I told Once I’m finished with my education, my final step to becoming an excellent preschool teacher, I’m going to work hard for my student by creating a safe environment that is conducive to learning, engages individual students, and gets them excited about learning. I believe making a difference in the life of a child is at the heart of every teacher. Different techniques for teaching will help with lesson plans, observations on the job, and daily circle time; therefore, I am going to apply Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory and Paiget’s Four Stages of Development in my classroom. I’m going to accommodate each student according to their individual needs. I want to be the best teacher that can be by staying connected with the parents of my students by informing them of what is going on in class using weekly newsletters and keeping them up to date so they can help their children. In order for me to be the best teacher I can, I have to create a list of goals to help me throughout my entire teaching career. It’s apparent that it takes effort to complete each goal, but every step brings me closer and closer to what I desire to be. I want to mature as a person for my son, set the right

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

When I started my junior year of high school I went to the career center for dental assisting. I was expecting to go to enroll into Columbus State Community College, get a major in Dental Hygiene, and then get my Dental Hygienist license in two years. However, after the last two years of being in the Dental Assisting program, like Shelia, I knew I did not want to be what I thought I wanted to be. I am going in a new direction, to major in nursing. One reason is, since I was young I always took extra concern for people’s wellbeing and would like to make a career out of it. I would also like to expand my nursing and become a Pediatrician. The second reason why Shelia’s story is relatable to mine is that I am great with little kids and I think that being a Pediatrician would be a good career for…

Everybody goes through something that is tough in life. For instance, some may have trials and tribulations in school, work, or even at home. For that reason, people find many ways to overcome their problems. Some people could just talk to someone about what they are going through, and they could immediately overcome their complications. This explanation leads to the following question: What is the greatest obstacle to achieving my number one goal? My number one goal is to graduate out of college with a degree to start my career in practical nursing. When I first started college in 2011, I was thinking that college was going to be difficult. During that time, I was taking an Anatomy and Physiology class, and I had too many roads to failing…

I am writing this quick letter to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my accomplishments and aspirations as a writer. I won't say that writing is in my blood or my genes or anything like that, but I will say that I do have an insatiable urge to write. I cannot say, but I definitely feel that writing is a passion of mine that I greatly enjoy. It is an urge that can only be satisfied and, even then, only temporarily, by stringing words together into a narrative. Ultimately, I greatly enjoy writing, although I do not consider myself to be stellar at it; I would call it a passion more than anything else.…

Competency Goal Four: To establish positive and productive relationships with families. As an early childhood educator, I have to maintain a positive and productive relationship with the families that come into my preschool. Parents entrust me with their children all day and, I make the parents and families feel as much a part of our classroom and a part of their child’s development. To create this relationship, I work to build an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each of the children’s family. I make sure to let my families know about my open door policy where they can come into the classroom and stay for a short period of time. A great way to get families involved is to have a volunteer sign up for each of our event at school. I find this is a great way to get my parents involved in the school to help out.…

I am a communicator because everyday single day I ask questions and talk to people. Mostly questions to teachers because sometimes I don’t get it, but sometimes my friends because they might be confusing. One of my goals is to not wait until the last minute to do all my homework because sometimes there are a lot and I won’t be able to finish it in time unless I stay up extremely late. In order to avoid doing that, I will always ask my siblings or parents to keep reminding me to do my homework until it’s no longer a habit. My other goal is to be a better thinker because sometimes the best way to understand the question is to think deeply. My third goal relates to my first one and that is to always do my homework. Most of the time I’m very lazy and I don’t want to get out of bed just to do homework so I just leave it there. I will begin changing that goal by telling my brother, my sister, my mom, or my dad to keep…
